  1. and what is their obsession with creek beds? I always see a snowboard track going down a low-angle creek bed with all kinds of warning wands in it, only to see the track change over to a boot track wallowing out of the drainage ahhh I love this stuff.
  2. I blame snowboarding specifically for me having to be an unwilling voyeur of fat male asscrack as they try to fiddle with their bindings with the sagging camo pants.
  3. now this is getting good My favorite are the boarders who come into the lift lines way too fast to try to keep speed to get to the back of the line, and take out a few poles in the process. BAM! and down he goes
  4. don't support this Clark supporter. send your codes to me.
  5. nice catch there trask, but I thought you would be violating parole by traipsing through playgrounds again
  6. just erase and reinstall. If you have not had to do this in the last year, I doubt you're actually using windows.
  7. hey I was just kidding there. I was referring to the buried surface hoar from earlier (as freeclimb corrected me). I was releasing some decent wind slabs on ski cuts over in the mt hood meadows area just the other day. it will be interesting to see how the sun works this stuff.
  8. jeezus what time of year were you on that thing??

    Skins

I have used both clipfix and sts glidelite tails for a bit and I would go for the newer glidelite sts attachments now. As your skins get wet over the course of a tour, they stretch a bit, making the clipfix hard to keep tight. The STS attachment flexes a bit, so it stays secure. The glidelite skins fold up into a smaller package too. Either will do just fine though, and I think Ascension still has the best skins out there.
  12. Not necessarily. It can mean you're postholing crust, which is miserable. Crust that periodically breaks through is some of the worst climbing imaginable. Being at the top of Helens w/o skis could be called miserable on its own
  13. dru he's just asking a question, not proposing a query
  14. it is set up nicely right now. good turns right off the summit. a little stickier down low but not bad at all.
  15. I don't really need to be scared each time. I've had as much fun climbing the west ridge of n. twin with good friends or skiing helens as I have on scary stuff.
  16. wow that's pretty obnoxious. I thought the British were our allies. My folks get a lot of mail from England but have never come across this. Maybe a dog gave an alert to the pile of mail your letter was in? Only guessing.
  17. I appreciate sleeping, food, sunny meadows, company, flat ground, good health, etc so much more after some sporty conditions up in the mountains. Otherwise you take all that stuff for granted quickly. You are reminded how good life is.
  18. yeah the guano dyno has slashed the grade. how do I know this? my new copy of the smith guide of course
  19. YEAH TECHGEEK SMACKDOWN! SUPERMODIFIED RAP SETUPS! OBSCURE ROPE MATERIALS! INSANE DIAMETERS! we'll sell you the whole seat but you'll only need the edge edge edge edge
