    Skins

I have used both clipfix and sts glidelite tails for a bit and I would go for the newer glidelite sts attachments now. As your skins get wet over the course of a tour, they stretch a bit, making the clipfix hard to keep tight. The STS attachment flexes a bit, so it stays secure. The glidelite skins fold up into a smaller package too. Either will do just fine though, and I think Ascension still has the best skins out there.
  2. Not necessarily. It can mean you're postholing crust, which is miserable. Crust that periodically breaks through is some of the worst climbing imaginable. Being at the top of Helens w/o skis could be called miserable on its own
  3. dru he's just asking a question, not proposing a query
  4. it is set up nicely right now. good turns right off the summit. a little stickier down low but not bad at all.
  5. I don't really need to be scared each time. I've had as much fun climbing the west ridge of n. twin with good friends or skiing helens as I have on scary stuff.
  6. wow that's pretty obnoxious. I thought the British were our allies. My folks get a lot of mail from England but have never come across this. Maybe a dog gave an alert to the pile of mail your letter was in? Only guessing.
  7. I appreciate sleeping, food, sunny meadows, company, flat ground, good health, etc so much more after some sporty conditions up in the mountains. Otherwise you take all that stuff for granted quickly. You are reminded how good life is.
  8. yeah the guano dyno has slashed the grade. how do I know this? my new copy of the smith guide of course

  15. ASTRONOMERS: HOT MARTIAN CHICKS OBVIOUSLY ON OTHER SIDE OF BORING ROCK FORMATION Pasadena, CA - Despite setbacks to the Mars Spirit rover resulting in a sudden loss of communication, scientists and astronomers are still excited about the possibility of discovering water, signs of life and hot Martian chicks on the other side of the planet. "We are not worried," said deputy project manager Richard Cook speaking from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Thursday. "Spirit's twin, Opportunity, is set to arrive on Mars this weekend and we are confident we will have pictures of aliens working and playing in their [mostly female] Garden of Eden within weeks if not days." After 18 days on Mar's surface, Spirit has snapped the highest resolution photos ever taken of the red planet, including never before seen color images of rocks and craters. "Rocks and craters are great. Really exciting stuff," said UCLA-based astrophysicist Donald Mayer. "It was certainly worth 14 years of post graduate study and $100,000 in student loans. Gotta love those rocks." Doctoral student Brent Solomon agreed that the excitement of finding all those interesting rocks is much more important then finding attractive Martian women. "Despite what my colleagues in the Internet Extra Terrestrial Consortium say, we were never looking for that 'lost ark' of beautiful, voluptuous, uncorrupted space women who have never seen a man or could identify who might be nerdy and unattractive by Earth standards. Now, if we just happened to stumble across them by chance, and they would teach us how to use a wormhole to take three or four of my buddies there, then fine. But it's not really a big deal." Mayer stressed that despite the major anomalies involved with the current mission, he still plans on holding off on any marriage plans until the Mars Odyssey checks out what's past a large mound of dirt a few meters away from the rover. "I'm sure they're there. I mean it doesn't really matter. But if that damn camera would just turn about 45 degrees I'm sure it would find some primitive tools or perhaps a discarded loincloth. It's there, I just know it." source: bobfromaccounting

  18. and why don't people with small tv's just buy a big parabolic mirror and project it?
  19. I guess if you were hovering at the focus of one mirror and were looking at the other you would see yourself upside down? It's like that silly optical illusion toy of two mirrors, one with a hole cut out to project the focus up.

    something funny

Here's something funny. "personal injury"? did someone choke on a chip or something?
  21. It seems like white lies are frequently used to distill down complicated political situations to explain them to and gain general support from the public. Perhaps this is a reality of being the president. This particular one was less white than past ones, in my opinion. PP, no matter what article you post here, I don't think you can deny the Bush administration painted a portait of panic when it comes to WMD development in Iraq. Since I am an American, and I was swayed to be concerned about a real threat in Iraq, I'd say the damage was done no matter the tedious syntax you try to explain exaggerations away with now.
  22. tele bindings, at least the older ones, seem generally easier to repair in the field. "repair kits" for AT bindings usually involve hauling in replacement plastic toe pieces, etc.
  23. I want to know how someone managed to roll at subaru outback on the 405 bridge yesterday afternoon.
