Are you some kind of Unitarian or something? As the guy was arguing last night: either you believe Jesus was the son of god or you don't. If you do believe that, you must also believe that those who do not believe it are wrong. You must believe that you have an important knowledge of the truth that they are lacking. We see nuance and variation within a given sect, but whether you are a Tibetan Buddhist or an Evangelical Christian, there are certain core beliefs that you have accept as "true," no? (I could be wrong, as I never went to divinity school, but I think that is how it works.) Jesus does not refer to Himself in the Bible as the Son of God, but as the Son of Man. And no, one who believes this does not have to believe others to be wrong about their beliefs. That's where the handy, "I don't know the ways and intentions of God" comes in handy. I do believe in Christ, but I don't believe that God necessarily came to everyone in the same guise. This isn't much of a stretch, is it? I mean, if someone is willing to believe that a person was raised from the dead and asked others to eat of His flesh, is it really that much harder to believe that maybe God sent Buddha to some folks and Shiva to others? Disagree - Jesus did say he was the only way. "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all ..." (1 Timothy 2:5) "There is one body and one Spirit ... one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all." (Ephesians 4:4) Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." (John 14:6) "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and find pasture ... I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:9) Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die." (John 11:25) Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." (John 8:12) And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." (John 6:35) "I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world." (John 6:51) "... whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:15-16) "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3:36) "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins." (John 8:24) "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life." (John 5:24) "... And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; He who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (1 John 5:11) "And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God." (1 John 4:14) seems to me the people who translated what they say was said is who says jesus said his way was the only way

  4. Thanks Bill. I will go check out one of the running shops. I know there is a place in town that puts you on a tred mill and finds the right shoe for you gate and step etc... but i have always baught shoes at payless or k-mart, the mall or in more recent years REI. But i have never been fitted for shoes at the REI here. we are lucky if we can get someone to go in back and bring out the box with the shoes i want to get in about the right size. i honestly can't remember the last times someone measured my foot and helped me find the right size of shoe.

one day i will have one made. *nods emphatically* It's worth it. I am normally a 38/24/38 without any "training" and you are probably about the same. You'd think they'd make corsettes ready to go like this, but they don't. When you have one made for you the material is cut exactly right and the steel "whalebones" are shaped specifically for your body. This is key--opera strings can't pull in a poor-fitting corsette no matter how hard someone yanks on them. It has to be good from the start and then you can slide into it without looking contorted. i have found a couple of places on line. it is defiantly on my list of will haves.

I think a good spanking will make you red on the bottom. Not the right thing to say to a Dom. Keep trying. Take your whole life if you need. i love how people assume women are subs. i prefer vanilla ice cream but i take my lovers rocky road.

Traumatic childhood handholding incident perhaps? When I was a camp counselor, we used to "punish" the kids who got in fights by making them walk around holding hands with each other. This was an especially potent punishment for the inner-city boys. Probably scarred them for life. OMG i am so doing that if my kids ever get in trouble walking home from school again. (one of the teachers saw them pushing each other around and called me) that is the perfect punishment

Ok, I found it. I'm designing a protocol for this, so this is just off the cuff shit. -write the alphabet with your big toe...gradually add ankle weights. -try to active mold you foot into an arch. start by passively forcing you foot into this position, and work your way up to being able to do it while weight bearing. this is called the "short foot" exercise -do a 1-leg stand, then close eyes...all the while doing the "short foot". Progress to a rocker, then a wobble board-eyes open, then closed. -with your heel on the ground, sitting in a chair, curl your toes. Put a towel on the ground and curl it up...then spread it back out. Add challenge by putting a weight on the end of a towel. -Stretch your big toe out (abduction) by pulling towards your other foot on your big toe, and adding counter resistance by pressing in the other way on the head of your 1st metatarsal (the base of your big toe). -Grab things like golf balls with your feet. -strengthen your tibialis anterior muscle. Place your toes under a dumbell or weight, and lift your foot up. This should burn. -Stretch your calfs. Stand on the edge of the stairs facing uphill and drop your heel down. -Likewise, hold some weights and stand at the edge of the stairs as mentioned above, and SLOWLY lower yourself down. -walk around the house barefoot. progress to walking outside in a safe (no glass!) environment barefoot. If you can do ALL these exercises, you will not only fix a lot of foot, hip, leg, knee, back issues, you'll be a ninja master. thats what mike said i should do. I think (correct me if i am wrong) the idea is to get the feet healthy and strong and THEN go barefoot as much as possible. but the arch has to be able to hold it's self up at that point. That was my take on it too. And I remember him talking about those barefoot type shoes (the ones that high_on_rock tried and liked) and saying they were good for feet. I notice that when I climb, the first thing that gets tired are the tendons that are on the side of my feet that go up my calves, so I think foot exersize will help this as well. And am I the only one who gets massive cramps in the bottom of her feet at about orgasm 5? Intense, action-stopping pain that hurts so bad it makes me laugh. I have had that happen too. i have learned to spread my toes and flex my foot rather than pointing. I still have the muscle reaction but it keeps the foot cramps at bay. awkward at first but once you get used to it... like second nature

I am curious about the insole thing--this sounds like the opposite advice Layton gave. Or do these work well when alternating with lots of barefeet around the house? i think that what will end up happening is that i need good shoes with good insoles. I have been hiking around in shoes that do not help my feet, but harmed them. not that the damage is done, i need to correct the damage before i can go back to having my feet. i may not be able to correct the damage, it sounds like that is the case for both bill and catbird. the podiatrist said that the idea is to at least get me to where i only have to have insoles in my hikers and runners. but for now while the i am trying to heal i need to sooth, stretch, and support my feeties.
