Maybe next we can resort to making hand shadows against the curtains, to be followed by miming the crux moves.

Which one are we talking about, the black one, the medium gray one, or the light grey one (you bastard)?

Yeah, it might be a fun spring thing: over easy pass, down the Fischer Creek valley, turn left up into the cirque. The brush up the side creek would be tamer, though the bowl might have avy concerns. There is a reasonable VERY brushy ramp up the right side, then you're into the douglas glacier bowl. Should be a good ski up to the douglas/banded col. One could do Logan from there, then down the banded glacier and into Thunder Creek for a great spring adventure tour. Summertime, we left the th late in the afternoon for shade on the Easy Pass grind, slept on the other side and took our time up the side valley. Bear alert. Coming out was one day easy, with an early supper brew before the discouraging 1800' grind back up to Easy Pass. Summertime flowers on the meadowed Fischer Creek slope are stellar, and Easy Pass has all the charm of Cascade Pass with none of the visitors. Be forewarned that the interesting rock face directly west of the pass, dubbed Little Johannesberg, is reputed to suffer from lots of loooooose rock. But that's just the guidebook, so who knows?

okay, okay. It's Thunder Peak, othewise known as the NE peak of Mt. Logan. edited: I really wasn't feeling well yesterday, what was I thinking? No trip reports in spray.

Awesome Snoboy, I'd have hesitated to claim that hunk of stone as the Cascades, but I guess geologists are mostly non-partisan. Dramatic lighting makes for a great shot.

    Reason!!!!????

Bingo! Deleting the thread was not my action, but it was another of Charlie's trolls regarding the banning of avatar "Donkeypunch" (gee, who's avatar was that anyway?) which dribbled off into pornographic icons provided by the aforementioned Charlie. C'mon dude, that song wasn't a hit the last time you played it, learn something new.

Darin, I'd second snoboy's guess, but I'd hesitate to include it in the Cascades. Beckey included it in the Red Book, didn't he? I'd have to say he was grasping, but I'm hardly an authority. Dru: nope, sorry I'll post details on my mystery in a little bit, perhaps without Lowell in attendance we don't have the cascade obscurity beat adequately covered.

Well Chuck, I think its the same kind of rock, and you can almost see it from the top of Forbidden.

Keep going Matt, I'm counting on you. More obscure than Sahale, access via N Cascades Hwy. Two routes on the peak: left skyline and easier thing on the backside. I know another one just waiting too...

Nope Doc, I'm the photographer, though I do have a self-photo in roughly the same location wearing the same saurian, but it reveals less of the relevant peak.

    HELP

  14. Hot damn, thats a great accomplishment. I only smoked for 3 hours in a bar in southern Wisconsin when I was 18, so I have no experience to speak of, but word is it's tougher to quit than smack.

damn, no fair, I was gonna guess NW Face when I saw the pic (just what I've imagined it would look like) but I wasn't here. That's what I get for working. Okay, here's that N Cascades one again, for all to see:

Yep Chuck, it would make sense, except the image is reversed, as in mirror imaged. J-berg summit is on the left, where the West summit would actually be, and the North Ridge on Forbidden doesn't have those steep steps that the ridge on the left does. I'd assumed it was obfuscation on a popular peak, but sounds like a mistake instead.

I'd have never guessed if it wasn't for Matt's clever observation. Makes sense though, like Triumph, Forbidden has one of those lovely ribs up the center of the northish face.

JB- Mattp's schlagengerman suggests that its Forbidden. Is it scanned in reverse with the N ridge on the right and W ridge on the left, and an inverted J-berg peeking over the shoulder? Nice pic. I've attached a somewhat more obscure offering. Attached rather than posted, because it may not be suitable for the faint of heart. edited: got my lefts and rights mixed up
