  1. Nope, didn't stop him.
  2. Okay, being somewhat familiar with the character that started this thread, I'm pretty sure it's just a troll, but that original intention has been trumped by a couple of serious replies, so we'll all take this as a serious question and be polite about it, rather than lose the information in the sea of chaff that is Spray. I'll reiterate to make it clear for all: Don't Spray In This Thread.
  3. Karma is ultimately unsatisfying for the virtuous, because you seldom get to witness the miscreant's comeuppance.
  4. You mean, like this guy?
  5. It's a simple equation: single person + real job - home ownership = disposable income What kinda slide scanner did you get Will?
  6. I'm impressed with how clean it is around the hut, awhile back you wouldn't want to lay down in that spot. Looks like a great nap.

    For Dru...

Hey, at least he's a step ahead of you.

    torque

Dude, my life would be complete without knowing what kind of torque you put on your plug. Some things even friends don't need to share with friends.
  10. All your cleverness are mine.
  11. Squirrel Tag? I guess that calls for the annual reappearance of.... Nutball!
  12. I've got a pair from Overstock, they work just fine for the kinds of stuff you run into on Cascade rock routes. For example, they were ideal on my tennies for crossing the glacier back and forth to Triumph. If I were going to be on Rainier for several days, odds are I'd bring a burlier pair of crampons. I'm sure they're not the best or the lightest aluminum crampons out there, but the price is good.

    LOOK!

Sorry, I was outside, missed this thread
  14. I think you're more likely to have Cholera from working with AK's sewer lines than Typhus, but I'm sure it's possible to have both at the same time. If you are a goner, have you left enough money to buy a keg? Several kegs? If so, it's likely that cc.com will turn out to salute your passing.
  15. Spoken like a 5.9 leader, Howie.
  16. On the otherhand, the lack of recognition given to top-rope routes leads to bolt proliferation and other funny ego politics. A good example is a 50' long route that my friend put up in 1978 at Mission Gorge in San Diego. He rated it 10c, it was in several guidebooks, and years later another guy TR'd it, put in 7 bolts, renamed it, graded it 11a, and claimed a first ascent. I'll wager there are a number of local examples of this same thing. Particularly in terms of short routes, maybe not everything needs to be leadable?
  17. Scorecard???

I'd lump "Being John Malkovich" in the same category. Great list of flicks, Arlen.

  20. Only one I know is an area at Mission Gorge in San Diego, didn't figure that was what you were fishing for. Good climbing though...
  21. Dude, are you still around? I thought you were too busy bludgeoning puppies to death with a battery filled sock...
  22. A Disclaimer for the poorly informed: Amanita is not your best choice for a recreational mushroom, widely varying levels of toxicity depending on vagaries of location make it unpredictable and potentially fatal. Death by liver failure is not a pretty picture. Also, get a good handle on identification before you go picking any of the native species of the Psilocybe mushroom, identification is fairly easy but there are some look alikes you don't want to eat.
  23. Does that make one who enforces the TOS a Tosser?
  24. Yes, Charlie did in fact post porn. While it may have been in Scooby Doo cartoon form, it was still graphic sexual penetration porn that would get you fired at school, Sisu. I'd been thinking it was about time for him to come back, but something about the whining and lying doesn't move me to act today anyway, and it doesn't matter when you registered.
  25. More important was Rumsfeld's 1984 meeting with Saddam, where his explicit instructions (in print) from George Shultz, Secretary of State, were to assure Saddam that our public condemnation of his use of Chemical Weapons on Iranians and Kurds was so much puffery for public consumption, but that our desire for success against Iran and the bolstering of a secular dictatorship far outweighed that concern, and the US was in fact still a friend.
