If you're into bouldering, you might check out boldering.com (note the misspelling) as there seem to be a number of Texians there who like as not would show you the goods. I've only been to Hueco once, but it was pretty damn cool. This was before the current restrictions, but I hear its still worthwhile.

A number of branches of our five county library, The Timberland Regional Library subscribe, and I would imagine that you big city folk may also find your local institutions do as well.

Too true, lots of disagreements around here come from this basic fact of bulletin board life. Its all to easy to read what someone says but not understand what they mean. Politeness is the key, seemed like he was nice about it. I do hate to see someone all shaky and rattled while free soloing though, but I think that's just personal squeamishness. Sounds like that was not the case this time. I did once have some guy solo a route in Joshua Tree that I had just led and my second had already started following. I think it was kind of an obnoxious fashion there in the mid eighties. That was not polite, but it would have been churlish on my part to boot the oaf 140' to the deck.
