  1. You make me laugh with your bitching about our tired complaints. It's a rite of Spring to bitch about the Mountaineers flocking over everything, Erik. Sort of like your annual shower.
  2. I'll get them out for you. Send me the jacket. Unfortunately, it will take several years for my patented process to work, but you'll get it back without the stains. Stuff it in a box and send it to: The Trask Home for Wayward Climbers, PO Box 2, Arlington, WA
  3. Okay, so this thread is going to morph into a funny mountie encounter thread, I am sure, so I'll start it. Highlander and I were climbing the S. Arete on SEWS ahead of some Mounties (okay, NINE!!!). I was leading and our plan was to simulclimb once the rope ran out. I got below the chimney and H'lander said that was it and he was climbing (from the base). He unclipped his belay device and started towards the rock. The leader of the Mountie group stares at him, "You're just going to go, then?" Dan turns to him, "Uh, yeah, it's called simul-climbing," and takes off. That one got repeated the whole weekend. 4. At the start of the course you were told no one can miss any class without 1st making arrangements to do a makeup at another branch. You were told this. You were told this. You were told this. Is this your 1st encounter with rules being enforced? Everyone sees going in what a rules-based organization the Mtnrs are. If you think you got burned, you went into the deal with eyes wide shut. From the way you write, I bet your personality didn't help you any. Probably none of them really wanted to go climbing with your sniveling, petulant attitude. Boy, I sure want to be involved with the Mountaineers if I get to enjoy quality time with petty little twats like this cornhole. RULES, RULES, RULES!!! How can you be a good climber without RULE ENFORCEMENT??? Mountaineers suck dog balls. Their last major contribution to the world of climbing came in 1934 with the 3rd summer, first alpenstock-less ascent of Mt. Si, with only three forced bivys. Thankfully, with the advent of the Seattle Sombrero, and the doubleboot/gaiter/polypro/shorts/fleece & Goretex jackets hyper-sweat climbing clothing system, and 25,000 c.i. suspensomatic backpacks, this climb can be completed with only two bivys. This is the first thing that Necro has said that I agree with. I guess we CAN all get along! Well, maybe...
  5. Must say that I just got my Marmot Eiger and those Sri Lankan children do good, quality work. The craftsmanship is great!! You know, this child labor thing isn't all bad; it beats giving blowjobs to Japanese businessmen under a bridge, I am sure.
  6. Hey, what did I win? Being in a fraternity for four years made me an expert on emesis. The NBC was nice on Saturday; the constant spindrift stream was cool. It was nice to meet Alex (or wake him up, actually), as well. Greg W
  7. Mountain Gear has them for like, $50. I'll probably just pick one up because it's so cheap. BUt I'd like to hear some reviews if anyone has used one.
  8. I read that article and there is really no substance there; nothing definitive. Until CWD cases start showing up in my hunt unit, I'll be eating elk with a big old smile on my face and a beer in my hand. Raise your own beef.

    Hardcore!

I figured that was where Dennis Harmon went off to: underwater ice climbing in Antarctica. No ratings or mention of route beta.

Looking the look and walking the walk are two entirely different things. How about Adam Ant? New wave, but cool.
  12. You're a dick, DFA. Trask and I both agree on that. Isn't it time for your Chess Club meeting?

Say what? Were any of the above ever considered "punk"? New Wave maybe (except for garcia) but punk?!?!? I saw Queen circa 1980. One of the finer shows I ever went to--that I can remember. Those are all New Wave bands. Punk was Sex Pistols, Generation X, The Clash, etc. Johnny Cash, baby!!!
  14. Let's play with matches...hehehe!!!
  15. Tool.
  16. Nothing to see here, I just haven't done that in a while. hehehe, fuckers.
  17. I think that was happening at 5 a.m. right before he licked his master's face.

    TORTILLAS

Non-stick is for amateurs. Go for anodized aluminum Calphalon Professional series. That's the shit!!
  19. I have met trask, and can say that greg w is not trask. Although, in a certain light and with lots of alcohol, he might look as dashing as myself.

    TORTILLAS

Oh, yeah. That's a staple of my diet. I make my own, flour thank you very much.
  21. Saw the new "Climbing" Magazine on the rack the other day proclaiming Chris Sharma "America's best climber". What a load of shit. Didn't that punk just start roped climbing again? Whoopee that he can climb sick-hard shit. What about well-rounded climbers like Dean Potter or Timmy O'Neil? Just made me shake my head. Spray on...
  22. Anyone know the status on David Whitelaw's Darrington Guide? Just curious, and anxious. BTW, anyone been up thataway lately? How is the access shaping up? Is the road avy'd over?

I know, AK; I was just mentioning Britain's "success" at gun control because that is what Dalius is supporting in a de facto way. You mention freedom: how much freedom does their tax system provide? How free are they in their health care decisions? Why do so many of them look like dirty hippies? These are all important issues.
