  2. nonsense, religion makes for some fine muzak [video:youtube]
  3. if the "mainstream media" wanted to see the occupy movement defeated, why would they stories like this on msnbc? http://openchannel.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/19/8884405-lobbying-firms-memo-spells-out-plan-to-undermine-occupy-wall-street
  4. sounds like 2 sides of the same coin to me
  5. smoke's cleared round here, and i still don't get it - accusing a aclu-type of not giving a shit about the constitution seems alot like saying everyone in the audubon society hates big bird if the gov won't tax the property of a catholic church, then it should allow me the same right when i proclaim myself high-priest of my own little fantasy faith
  6. badass avatar though! you w/ or w/o heart-plug at the moment?
  7. seemed like the general public already had a pretty good idea where it was as there were two other parties there that day, and given the maps and other info available easily on the interwebz that's not likely to change - not too fragile a place either, unlike the deadhorse (who's top secret location i didn't divulge last year) at any rate, i wouldn't fancy meself a caver so don't care too much about honoring the rules of another insular, clannish, secretive clutch of crackers - i get my fill of that with the beatards!

    Drinking the Kool-Aid

seems like shit grammar - doesn't "In the jungle, there's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison" sound more the thing?
  10. they also make fine suicide bombers and even better lawn torches for parties
  11. Your point would be more effective if it included a pic with dead kids. but the romans didn't crucify kids, just sold em into a life of prostitution and violence!
  12. i'm sorry, morm-ards, but nothing can beat the roman's "i am spartacus" campaign!
  13. so...do the cops have any leads?
  14. the place seemed totally sterile - no reason bats couldn't get in there of course, and i guess the ceilings are high enough in places you could just not notice them, but mostly the impression is of being in space or on some dead planet, just minerals and moisture
  15. "i swear to god i'll pistol whip the next man who says sheenanigans ad hominem"
  16. dunno 'bout credence, but i fucking hate the eagles!
  17. naw, by the time kronkite bailed on the MACV damn near everyone else in the field was on his heels - michael herr, who makes an especially good study of the language of the military in 'dispatches,' made a good name for himself after then, for example, but there was a ton of anti-war coverage still to come, especially w/ laos n' cambodia, all of which the media gave nixon hell over. still, of course it took 3 years of hardcore shit being shoved down their throat for the big boys to catch up, and that intervening period did have plenty of independent, "new" media holding it up (like rolling stone?) and making it happen.
  18. you been there yet? howzit? i'll be pulling on plastic in a tuff-shed here in a few, figure its cheaper
  19. I don't even know what to say is THAT what killed that still uncertain guy's cat?
  20. the mother of all shills at that, the apotheosis of such apologists!
  21. Hang around with many leaders? I didn't know that was a pre-requisite to be a student of history. machiavelli sure thought there was a connection in this old'un'but'good'un
  22. Woulda had to have been right after, I reckon... like on the CBS Evening News. January 31, 1968 fact checking motherfuckers! okay, FEBRUARY 1968!
  23. FUCk?
  24. not being a protestologist, i'll have to muddle my way through w/ what anecedotes my eye-balls happen upon...
  25. walter kronkite, a corporate shill, didn't admit on national tv in january of 1968 that the vietnam war needed to end? Before or after Tet? tet was in january of 1968, so right after the point being, you can get the mainstream media to acknowledge your views and report your demands in an impartial and perhaps even sympathetic way, it's just not going to happen instantly and in all venues mainstream news throughout much of the us eventually swung round civil rights for blacks and fags too, no? certianly though, protest movements do need to have an eye towards controlling their message and getting it out independtly where possible - the abolitinists of hte 19th century generally owned their own printing presses, only half of which got thrown into rivers by angry mobs
