  4. somebody explain in small words and slowly - seems i've stopped innumerable falls over the years w/ a variety of devices, sometimes sudden falls where i'm paying close attentions, sometimes not, pretty much always in the "palm up" position as whoever mentioned, and all w/o incident - why did the lot of us all avoid death? and gri's must always have a brake hand? i use it for rope-soloing and took dozens of falls w/o incident either.

  10. very fun to do as a big loop too, up the sunshine then back down the spur - did it in 100+ conditions in june years ago and recall it was verticalish slush-swimming on the way back down
