The Dragontail webcam looks like this right now:

Nice, it looks a lot better now. Maybe too much of a yellow tint for my taste, but that should be fixable with a little bit of photoshop.

As are the chalk marks from the bouldering. More or less offensive than a bolt?
-
Why? And was there similar debate over the dude with the bike helmet?

Steve Ramsey climbed it. http://homepage.mac.com/stephen.ramsey/climbing/triplog/200404-shuksan2/ I'm sure some folks here have skied it.

This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode of the chessmatch between Jerry's brain and Jerry's penis. My brain wins out most of the time, which according to Dirty Harry, makes me gay.

That is creepy! No visual signs of fracture/weakness... Good reminder for us to back up anchors!

I wonder what this couloir looks like from the air in the winter: http://terraserver.microsoft.com/image.aspx?T=1&S=12&Z=10&X=784&Y=6752&W=1

Ptarmigan Traverse History/Trivia Question

http://www.mountaineers.org/library/ Anyone can go to their library. Mounties members have better privileges regarding prices for additional librarian help, copies, checkouts, etc. -
Let's put it into terms that you can understand. Bats who bust a nut with many other bats are well hung so they can be better at busting a nut than the other bats. Because so many resources were diverted for , they're a little lacking in the melon. The bats who bust a nut with only one other bat are gay.

Can anyone point me to the article on rats synthesizing vitamin C vs. ones fed vitamin C (and maybe were genetically engineered not to syntheisize it in their livers) and on their reproductive rates after successive generations? I'm sure I've read something about that at some point, and I'd love to read it again. Same concept -- not needing as many resources for doing X means more can be spent doing Y.

Never seen them at PMS. I don't think I've seen them at FF. You can mail-order them from MEC too.

MEC has them.

How late is late? Today's a 12-hour day for me, though I'll probably work my last 3-4 hours from home.

I have other plans Tues night.

I guess the problem is for a photograph to be good, you need to have a good subject, composition, lighting, and technique (focus, exposure, sharpness, etc.). I like the subject in Cam's shots, while you've noted that they may be lacking in other categories. Some of the bouldering shots in this contest, in my opinion, could have more inspiring subjects -- either closeups of dynamic muscular bods or more aesthetic boulders. Take a look at Corey Rich's website (I posted a link under the personal websites forum). Some impressive bouldering shots there, but I suppose he has a little advantage over average cc.commies with subjects such as Chris Sharma and Katie Brown and professional gigs in India.

You don't need to be anorexic to squeeze through those bars.

I had business class in 7th grade where we learned how to write checks, balance a checkbook, and read an account statement. What's so hard about understanding credit cards? One rule: pay off your balance every month. Credit card companies are evil and will do whatever they can to convince you that it's in your best interest to have a running balance.

Republicans tend to like this sort of thing, as it's a way of doing a financial accounting of the effectiveness of your tax dollars. I don't like it for several reasons: a) a high-pressure test is not a good way of evaluating someone's learning b) it takes valuable time away from teaching and costs a nontrivial amount of money c) teachers are pressured into teaching for the exam instead of teaching how they should teach Not sure if I have an answer for college literacy. But I am annoyed by grade inflation, something moreso present at liberal arts schools than engineering schools. Regarding math, I wish folks weren't so dependent on calculators. Now folks are using their cellphones to calculate tip. I hate it when I pay for $19.52 of groceries, hand them $20.05, and watch as the cashier is dumbfounded.

stumbled across it today while doing a google for "bouldering photos" http://www.coreyography.com/ He has some impressive shots. Check out his rock gallery and India gallery. Some of his shots (e.g. the Lake Powell one) have a weird look... is that from a polarizer on the fisheye?

roughly There's some fun short runs that can be done from various points. I'll leave those as an exercise to the reader.
