  1. First Rove now Gonzales. They are covering their tracks fast and furious. A blowjob by an intern is going to seem so trivial when this hits the fan.
  2. Wow. Your pipe has been empty for too long.
  3. I have a degree in religious studies and was a political consultant for several years. Anybody want to go climbing? Actually, my goal in life is to understand those who disagree with me. This is a christian teaching, believe it or not. It goes along with the christian teaching to love everyone (regardless of their religious or political persuasion). This requires a lot of listening. Most christians fall on their face in this regard. Most other religions produce similar zealotry. As for politics, Jefferson wrote a treatise on "Being a Citizen" that should be taught in all levels of all schools. The basic tennet is that all people have a right to be heard and ANY effort to quash dissention is un-patriotic. Why can't we all just get along?
  4. Anyone up there this weekend?
  5. Oleg, kids, and I are going up Baker this weekend. If anyone else is interested, ping me.
  6. There IS a lot of downclimbing 3rd and 4th class. It was still scary due to loose rock stuck on all the low angle rock.
  7. Both are workable descents. The W Ridge is more obvious and cleaner rock. The NW buttress is tricky to start (from top down) and has a lot of loose rock but rap stations are well placed. We were CONSTANTLY afraid of bringing rocks down on ourselves. Bring extra gear to leave as some stations may be trashed by rockfall.

  10. I drive a 95 Toyota Paseo that runs great and looks like shit. I still got broken into last year at the Rachel lake trail head. But that was once as apposed to three times at other trail heads with my brand new truck, in one year. It might be locals but if you look up the exit 38 thread and find the posts where pictures were taken of guys breaking into cars and the zero response to this by King County police, you will quickly realize that your only defense is to defend yourself. If the police are not on the take, they just don't care at best. I'll bet that if you were to catch and detain the guys, and have ten witnesses, the police would take YOU into custody and let the thiefs dissappear. The King County Police are probably helping these guys. So watch out. The thieves tried to kill the guy who took the pictures in the exit 38 thread. The police did NOTHING. My guess is that they would haul us away in cuffs if we tried to kill one of their buddies breaking into our cars. And they would probably be right around the corner to arrest you.
  11. Its better than getting action when no one else is around.
  12. This late in the season, go out Rat creek and jump Icicle creek.
  13. OK chew this one up. http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=14999 What is the composition of HypoCol™ and Cholestin™? Scientists at Pharmanex and the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition analyzed the properties of Cholestin™. The composition by weight is starch (73%), protein (5.8%) moisture (3-6%), unsaturated fatty acids (1.5%), monacolins (0.4%), ash (3%), and trace amounts of calcium, iron, magnesium, and copper. There are no additives, preservatives, heavy metals, or toxic substances, such as citrinic acid. In 1977, Professor Endo in Japan discovered a natural cholesterol-lowering substance that is produced by a strain of Monascus yeast. This substance inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme that is important for the production of cholesterol in the body. Professor Endo named this substance moncacolin K. Since then, scientists have discovered a total of 8 monacolin-like substances that have cholesterol-lowering properties. Monacolin K is lovastatin, the active ingredient in the popular statin drug, Mevacor™, which is used for lowering cholesterol. Lovastatin also is believed to be the main cholesterol-lowering ingredient in HypoCol™ and Cholestin™. The lovastatin in Mevacor™ is highly purified and concentrated, while the ingredients in Cholestin™ and HypoCol™ are not. Thus, they contain much lower concentrations of lovastatin than Mevacor™. For example, each 600-mg capsule of Cholestin ™ contains less than 2.4 mg of lovastatin whereas tablets of Mevacor™ contain 10 mg or more of this ingredient. Because none of the components are purified and concentrated, HypoCol™ and Cholestin™ contain a mixture of the 8 yeast-produced monacolins, unsaturated fatty acids, and certain anti-oxidants. Some scientists believe that these other monacolins, unsaturated fatty acids, and anti-oxidants may work together favorably with lovastatin to enhance its cholesterol-lowering effects, as well as its ability in lowering triglycerides and increasing HDL cholesterol. (HDL is considered the "good" form of cholesterol since high levels of HDL cholesterol protect against heart attacks.) Further studies in animals and humans will be necessary to test these beliefs. How effective are HypoCol™, Cholestin™, and Xuezhikang in lowering lipids? Chinese scientists conducted most of the animal and human studies on this issue, using either Zhitai or Xuezhikang. The results of some 17 studies involving approximately 900 Chinese subjects with modestly elevated cholesterol levels have been published. In 8 of these studies, there was a control group that received a placebo (a pill with no active ingredients) for comparison purposes. In 9 of the studies, there was no placebo control group. These studies consistently showed that Zhitai and Xuezhikang lower total cholesterol (by an average of 10-30%), lower LDL cholesterol (by an average of 10-20%), lower triglycerides (by an average of 15-25%), and increase HDL (by an average of 7-15%).
  14. you are missing the point...i had a totally shitty physical this spring that necessitate some "fixes" to my diet...goddammit, i miss cheese... btw, i'm invested heavily in the makers of viagra.... Ahhh yes. I had hip problems due to my body not producing cartiledge like it used to. I started taking glucosamine which solved my hip problem but raised my cholesterol. So then I had to start taking Lipitor. I'm sure Viagra will be next. Have you tried red yeast rice? Same active ingredient that is in Lipitor.
  15. After all that, I have a job offer I can't turn down. It's weekend warriordom for this poge. But let's get those kids up a peak. LaborDay is just a little ways away.
  16. You don't nessessarily have to wear one.
  17. I do prefer the sites lower down. They are more centrally located so you can walk to some of the climbing. We also always have a tarp or two and often times one or two climbers are sober enough to put it up so it doesn't blow away. I will bring mine, 12 X 20 or something like that. And it is duct tape colored so all us males will feel right at home. Bridge creek is a good group site. You can slog up to Bridge Creek wall and try some adventure climbing. 8 mile is OK and is closest to the climbing. Just my 2 pesos.
