  1. I tried the Nuptses and they were too narrow for my feet. I have somewhat wide dogs as well. Spend the money and get a new pair of Invernos. They are old technology but they do work good.
  2. Parkas that work? Anyone use a DAS Parka on Denali, is it warm enough? What have you used that worked well? Denali boot liners, how do they work for normal spring/summer mountaineering conditions other places? My Koflach liners gave out this weekend but the shells are still decent, if I go with the intuition Denali liners will they be too hot for general mountaineering?
  3. Sounds like good advice. I was thinking the VE-25 would be a little tight for 3 guys over a 3 week stay. I will check out the Megamid.
  4. Any recommendations on 3 man Denali tents?
  5. Should be people headed to the AK range now, anyone know about the conditions?
  6. Any experience with $80 BD Mercury Mitts vs the $160 OR Alti Mitts?
  7. In Soldotna our day time high yesterday was 12F, that is the average low temp for this time of year and it was -20F this morning.
  8. Pete, Thanks for the link. It is just the info I was looking for. Guide books and guide lists are great, but the first hand accounts of what not to leave behind or skimp on are really valuable.
  9. I am looking at doing Denali next year. Please give me a list of the one or two pieces of gear that you used on the hill and thought were the best for the job. This could be anything, bag, parka, radio, etc... I know all the gear on the list and am looking for what you think was the best of the best. Thanks.
  10. Wild Things Andinista pack, size medium. This is a used pack in good condition with only normal wear. I am asking $175, they go for $360 new so this is over 50% off. Let me know if you are interested and I can email photos of the pack. I will include USPS priority shipping in the price.
