I know who it is but I am not going to tell you because your alter ego Ray has me blocked from sending him private messages. Go figure.

and the chat room, let's not forget the chat room! I miss the chat room.

No, SK is not my dad. He lives in the capital of Canada. You definitely don't have to be a good climber to be in the KTK. You just have to be a good sport.
-
oh, come ON ChucK, you really think a group of 90 is the same as your examples? Don't make me stick that electric cattle prod in your ear again, or you won't have ANY brain cells left, let alone your poor tastebuds.

I'm okay with party size maximums and permits for some areas as long as the policy is thoughtful. Really prefer to never see a party larger than 8 or maybe an occasional dozen anywhere myself. I agree that the Enchantments are a really nice place to visit based on the permit system. I know there's an argument for going to less popular places if you want to get away from the crowds, but the flip side of that is that places are classic often because they are exceptional. I'm Ok with the Mounties descending on places like the Icicle, but not in numbers like 90. That's just waay too many. I know you like it when I use the prod, but it is really not good for you, and I need to make sure you don't become dependant on it for your sole source of enjoyment.

Forest Service Pass - Consequences of Not Having One?
allison replied to payaso's topic in Climber's Board
web page Here's some more on the subject of passes (not compliance, sorry for the thread drift) as discussed on nwhikers.net. Looks like there's talk of a seamless pass for all Federal lands, has its advantages and disadvantages in my opinion. -
Thanks a bunch for the warning, Chris, you know we all 'preciate it, but can I just say, holy crabcakes, Batman, a group of 90? That is about 4 times the size it should be. Really really, way way too big. If anyone who makes these decisions is reading this, 90 Mountaineers in the Icicle is just way, way too many.

I'm in there right now if you want to see if at least the chat is working.... I am getting all kinds of error messages here and there...

MysticNacho made his first appearance at a Pub Club last night, and flelebleb was there too...and the list may still be incomplete. So many celebrities, so little time!
-
Thanks, Tim. We missed you at the Saturday night Grasslands Pub Klub. I tried to take up a collection to get the license for the chatty software last night at PC but no one was coughing up the dough.

No, Ray, he did not grab my ass....that was you grabbing my ass thinking it was ChucK's or something, you might remember that part of the evening, or you might not. Apparently if you're not a-leering, you must be a-queerin', but just remember, my dad came to one Pub Club, and he could come to another, and well, you can 'splain it all to him.....

Not only did I NOT get moderating powers, I also did NOT start the reversal of fortune on this discussion. Someone else did. I went along with it because the idea of having someone say anything negative about every dude's superhero was such anathema that it was making some of them very, very itchy. Not worth the the heartache for me, ChucKaroonie. So read this quick, before I edit it into some more inane rabblebabble.

You know what my favorite part of the day was yesterday? It was burning that pallette that we found, it burned nice and slow, like a hardwood. Maybe it was a hardwood....sure didn't burn like pine or something. I think it's nice to enjoy a truck stop burrito with some taco sauce on the drive home from the crags. AW PS. Hey moderators...move this thread to Spray where it belongs!!! [ 04-15-2002, 07:27 PM: Message edited by: allison ]

I'm all for that. K, wanna get more specific so our frenz from outside the Vortex of Ballard can find it?

I miss the chatroom! Bring it back soon!

Since the Seattle Pub Clubs have been running 30 people or more, someone (and I am not appointing myself) should let wherever we are going know we are coming, particularly if it is Hattie's. That place is way too small for us unless we could reserve the whole restaurant area in back, which seems unlikely, especially on such short notice. Got to see Erik with his shirt off several times (Lock up your daughters!), got to get rescued by the gallant Alpine K after I accidentally tossed my pack in the river (doh!), got to see SayJay in her little Betty sport top sewing up this nasty hard crack, and borrow her shoes while mine were drying after the river adventure, got to have lots of laughs and greasy breffies with the whole crew. Fun, fun, fun! Oh, and I just counted the mozzy bites from Saturday in the gorge, I got 14 bites on my left calf and 11 on my right. Them there voracious bastards are hungry! And then there's the Philosophy of Duh....but that's not mine to talk about....watch this space! [ 04-15-2002, 05:35 PM: Message edited by: allison ]

If summitmassagethypartnersthrobbingpost.com weren't so obscenely lame, no one would bash it.

...but whatever you do, make sure if you are using Spectra webbing that you do not attempt to make knotted runners out of them. This webbing is too slippery to hold a knot, and must be sewn.

As funny as the "" that WAS here was, it was inadvertantly posted by another member of this board who thought he/she was logged in as his/her self, and not as me.... [ 04-12-2002: Message edited by: allison ]

Anything you want resoled, take it to Ramuta Shoe Repair, in downtown Sea on 6th and Stewart. John Ramuta is a climber, and they do, IMO MUCH better work than the shop in Fremont, maybe cheaper, and the best part is when you bring in climbing shoes that you have trashed the rands on, they will not yell at you and make you feel like an idiot for waiting too long. I believe both Vert Worlds have shoe dropoffs at the gym for Ramuta resole service, they come by the gym once or twice a week, pick them up, bring them back, really handy!

We were busy climbing drinking, fighting, telling each other lies...listening to Dru tell impossibly long jokes, and complaining about being out of shape...no ski, only rock...and ROLL, baby!!!
