  1. Hey, Popey-poo, this is 'Spray'. Anarchy, babe, cantcha taste it?
  2. I work in theater and so when the rest of the world wants to be entertained, I'm at work. Lots of nights and weekends. Off all day all week much of the time. Works out just fine for me. Flexible schedule. Planning to take August off. And hopefully part of July too. Keep those freshiez fresh for me Timmy, I'm going to try and make it down to glorious Bend in the next month or so, finances permitting!
  3. Walked right in, no fuss, no muss, picked up a Marmot Arroyo for $112, in and out in less than 90 minutes. Not so bad at all this time.
  4. Uh, did someone say something? All I'm getting here is static! Is this thing working properly?
  5. quote: Originally posted by AlpineK: I think it's kind of funny that allison will spray until someone says something that offends her and then run for the cover of being a female. There is a difference between witty banter and potty talk. Can't you see that? Get off the crack pipe a minute, Sugarpants! [/QB] Now I wonder if the Mt Spears thread is an offender. Yes the thread could be viewed as degrading to woman, however is this our fault or Mrs. B's. In my oppinion Mrs. B is a smart busness woman who uses her body to make money. She's pandering to base instincts, so is it surprising when some guy expresses those base instincts.Don't get me going about Britney.[/QB] I missed that one, because I'm guessing, it's in 'Spray.' Where I rarely go.
  6. Hm, guess Heinous put us girls in our place huh?
  7. One of my favorite slab climbs is at RR. It's called 'Friction Face, Panty Waist.' Goes at .7 or.8 but feels harder. REally good fun. It's a little out of the way, by the Magic Bus if I recall. I would recommend long sleeves and pants on this route if you're on the pointy end.
  8. In my work, if I am noodling around online it's because I am in between working--nothing wrong with that. It's OK to use the computers at work to surf the Net during times like that, and on breaks, but when I go to check the board and see the aforementioned 100 JPEGs, likely of kind of embarassing stuff, well, I hate that. Plus I don't want to look at that myself. No one's asking for 'no levity' or lots of rules or anything like that, but a little bit of common sense could go a long way. Come on, Sprayers, is the rest of your life so repressed that you MUST spray over every square inch of cc.com in order to effectively jettison your pent-up agression? I seriously doubt that....and if it's the case, maybe we could take up a collection for some nice medication or therapy sessions...hey, worked for Trask!
  9. My pal Icegirl has managed to say what I've been trying to say for a while here...and yes, I have had to slam this window shut at work a couple of times where embarassing stuff came up. Sorry, there *may* be a good reason it's lonely over there in the Sprayground.... Thanks for your consideration in being reasonable about the stuff you put up on the main board...not a prude, just not always interested in that sort of stuff!
  10. Bryan, Given that you were long gone when the board was shut down, I doubt you know what you were talking about. I still write for the WTA magazine, how about you? Allison
  11. Why is it that when men and women spar with one another, seriously or in jest, that that means they are "smitten"? That may have played on the schoolhouse playground, but we all grow up eventually. W's little graphic of the humping/sodomizing smiley faces is a prime example of the sort of crap that a lot of women with perfectly functional senses of humor would find tacky and possibly offensive. I do. How about a little wit?
  12. "Why is it that women over-react to jokes and such? Seems to me that if a woman wants to play with the boys she should be able to take the same shit they do. You see something a bit ribald, forgedaboudit. Go around it. Don't take shit so personal. Especially in "spray"." I could go on about what is wrong with this, but if any of you really want to know why, ask your wives. Or your mothers. Except for one thing: this is not the 'spray' page. I rarely venture there, and I am eternally hopeful that people who need to spray will go to the Sprayground, and leave the more good-natured ribbing and discourse out here on the main board. Some of the stuff I see around here verges on hateful, toward women, toward gay people, toward each other. Can't you guys at least keep that sort of sordid garbage out of the main board? 'Zat too much to ask?
  13. I have an Arc'teryx Khamsin series pack, and I have done lots of different things in it and have never for one minute been unhappy with it. Suuuuper comfy. The only thing I would change on it is there is a long zip on mine, it's heavy, and they don't have those anymore. It's got a single aluminum stay and a thin packsheet in it. It's is brilliantly comfortable, and from MEC was still agonizingly expensive, but I wouldn't trade it for the world, except for maybe to get another Arc'teryx pack. Great, great packs. I wasn't going to add to this thread but really wanted the Arc'teryx to stand out. Note: MEC is the cheapest place I know of to get them, but you'll need to go and buy in person, no mail order on Arc'teryx, good reason to go to MEC...also, try on all of the sizes. I am 5'9" and was surprised to find that I am a 'short' by their sizing.
  14. "Fairweather"....different discussion group, different handle, same crackpot. I was on another board this guy used to frequent, but he got kicked off, for good reason too. Be thankful cc.com doesn't have an office for him to bother!
  15. Let me just say that I whapped K upside the head *twice* to his one whap, just hours ago. Let the games begin, TreeBoy!! [ 03-13-2002: Message edited by: allison ]
  16. Kitten fight, my ass. Alpine K's BARK is much worse than his BITE...as those of you who have encountered him in person may have noticed...I'd kick his ass.
  17. Hi. Heard of sarcasm? Seriously,if someone does step over the line in my general direction, they get a pm from me. Some of you may already know that. Have a happy day. I am going to pick up BOTH volumes of Wolcott's "Lakes of Washington" for $22 at 3rd Place Books. One of my favorite resources is ABEBooks.com, specializing in finding rare and out-of-print bookage, sometimes at fantastic prices like these! A happy day indeed.
  18. Thanks to all for your help on this. I really appreciate all of your input, except of course Rodchester, who once again manages to be a total smartass for no particular reason.
  19. Thank heavens we have Counsel on the board. I was getting nervous about the Drunken Eastside Sausage Group, who not only pushed the envelope on the above, but seriously jumped the gun on the timeline for location selection, for which code is still in committee. Generally, it would appear, location is not set until less than 48 hours prior, in order to keep paparazzi out, I'd assume. Before the elders meet to discuss the fate of all of us, let me gently offer a compromise solution: In order to appease all parties, one of the upcoming 2 Seattle weeks could be held at each location. My primary concern here is that the attendees of the previous week's Pub Club determining the locatin of the subsequent week's Pub Club could lead to malice, trickery, corruption, bribery, and a lot of other bad things I can't think of right now.
  20. I'm certainly not "scared" to meet you or anyone else associated with cc.com. To wit, I've been to PC in Seattle several times. I'm just not enthused enough about it to drive to I-Quah, that's all. There's always next week...

  22. Who's begging?
  23. No, you twink, the road is going to be closed between the 8Mile TH and the Colchuck TH. That's about 4 miles up the road. I did read your post correctly. And thanks so much for the helpful LNT 101, having only been hiking in these woods for a couple of decades, I wouldn't know that chalk was unsightly. I was going to respond to your PM on this subject, but since you've decided to put me on your 'ignore' list, I guess I'll have to keep the conversation public. Seems odd that you sent such a nice PM and then hit the big 'Ignore.' What gives?
  24. Lemmejustsay that I *second* Icegirl's suggestion, and that we will be at Dick Cheney's place in the North End secretly drinking nothing with no one tomorrow evening, at an undisclosed time. I for one had no idea the rules were so stringent on such things, and that nary a suggestion about a TacoFest shall ever occur again on the *wrong* week in the rotation! See you knuckleheads next week.
  25. I've been watching this board for months, and I can't think when you've ever been nice, why would you start tomorrow? Meanwhile.....see all you Seattlites next week. Let me just say that AK's remark about the pier struck me as rude.....but then I suppose that's not the first time THAT'S happened on this board, eh? And now of course he's gone all nice on me again.
