Ok see here, you got Crater Couloir in red, Widdermaker in green, and more or less claimed line of "The Barrier" in blue... it does kinda skirt along that steep shadowed face low down but I wonder where the 30 foot roof near the top is???
It goes up the most prominent buttress between WA and the gully... not really a wall and has some sections avoidable by walking left onto slabs I think.
British Columbia has been "Supernatural BC" for 25+ years.
Is "Metronatural WA" cause you guys are the Queer Eye for the Straight Guy version of BC? Where BC has real wilderness you guys have the artificially groomed, permit-system, micromanaged faux nature?
I haven't climbed this route for 8 years but I'm gonna give you my opinion anyway. I did not belay on any rickety old bolts and I did not take 3 #2 Camalots and yet I survived and built safe gear belays. If the shitty old bolts get chopped then fewer people will make the same mistake that Selkirk made and if they are left in more people will make the same mistake.
It'd be hella faster/easier to approach by chopper, but not cheaper.
That line up is insane! Were they feeding small children to the grizzly bears or anything for the entertainment of those too weak to hike downhill?
