Good, My only experience with with SAR was with Seattle Mountain Rescue. If I ever need to be rescued in the mountains these are the guys I want helping me.
I am sure they are really nice but 100 bucks is still a lot to spend on climbing pants. I Guess I will keep the mountie look alive with shorts over long johns.
The bridge to Royal Columns is out. You have to cross at the bend and walk back. Way too hard of an aproach. Not worth it. Should probably just stay home.
I am leaving too. I just feel too guilty reading useful trip reports, and different perspectives on climbing issues. The people who take this site seriously are ruining it for all of the idiots!
After struggling with damp matches in the wind and rain I decided to try a fancy windproof (crackhead) lighter. It did not work at all at altitude. What works for you?
If you drive by KOMO chances are you will see Ken Schram out front puffing on a butt and obsessing about all the things he is bitter about. He just dosent seem like a very happy guy. Stop and say hi to him and tell him you are a big fan.
My partner bailed on me and I decided to do a solo climb on Hood the weekend before the accident. My impression was that I felt safer relying on my own skills to not fall/arrest if neccesary. I saw many parties roped together and all bottled up on the way down. Some were carying pickets but not a single party was using any.
Hey now , ninja climbing claws are the bomb. The ones they sell for your feet for about 5 bucks make great instep crampons for snow packed trails. Climb on.
I got a ticket at Snow Creek a couple of weeks ago. I had a day pass hanging right off my mirror. There was a note on the ticket about how it was last years pass or something. I got it fixed after sending in a copy of the pass and a reciept from the store I bought it at. But what a pain in the ass. Why should I buy the f*%#ing pass when I get a ticket anyway? Well in the future I wont. Keep fighting the Man!
