  3. Lent him a stove n stuff in Peru earlier this year and lost his email. He lives outside J-Tree and is part owner in a rock shoe re-sole business. Supposedly he gets around and climbs quite a bit so I thought I'd check and see if anyone has heard of him.
  4. pay attention the your route finding on the lower access gulley (that gains the scree field) and once across the scree field, choose the correct chimney as there are several options here, some more difficult than the intended one.

  7. Looking to get up there on Sun. for the W. Ridge, understand there's a maze of logging roads to navigate. Any recent info on access (if any) differnet than what's in the guide books appreciated. Thanks.
  8. was on the e. ridge direct saturday, didn't see anyone on the n. ridge throughout our day but ran into a chick on the way out of boston basin w/ a pair of binoculars spying something up high on forbidden. asked her what she was looking for, said she heard someone was in trouble but didn't know who or where... if that's any info...

  12. stay at the turtle. if it's the extra time you need, stay there another day and as the others said skip the advance to camp hazard. the day (and night)i spent at the turtle all kinds of debris was coming down off the lower kautz and kautz ice cliff that would've made unwanted company had you been residing at hazard, one quite large block that even had us worried down low...
  13. yeah, warm enough to necesitate a couple of naps, figured we'd already blown our 'safety time window'.
  14. thanks for waiting around for us at the hut monday. we returned hours after you had left. yeah, guess our speed ascent didn't go as planned however we did make it and enjoyed thoroughly.

  16. the above mentioned mark is guiding some trips w/ mountain madness this june-july,(condoriri area & sajama) might have some spots open.

  18. don't have the tickets yet, waiting for a deal. probably the first week in june as well. i'm flying into lima, spending about 3-5 days in peru and then on to lapaz.

  23. stumbled across M E C site recently web page noticed some really good pricing. my questions is to the canooks or any who have experience w/ these guys as to the quality of there stuf. pros/cons etc. thanks
  24. if you can find your way down to tennessee for a weekend both obed river & t-wall in chatanooga offer some good trad/mixed sandstone. obed more steep, more sport and t-wall trad classics. some friends of mine have been working on some difficult new lines at white sides, plenty of steep, BIG granite they say. stone mtn, 500+ft of slab. had a friend say he never grab on to 'nothing' so hard in his life, teaches excellent footwork. sharpie is right when he says, runout. all slab sport routes were put up on lead w/ some pitches having but 1 bolt, 1 very old bolt. however there are some trad slab/crack routes which are apparrent local classics.
