Lemme guess: you're a state employee...

    The New Poor

...and if Gregoire and the Wa State Democrats have their way with the new taxes they are proposing, at least 30% of the employees at my company will be unemployed too. Pay raises, extra time off, cha-ching retirement plans, and contracts for state employees and their fucked-up thug unions while the private sector gets fucked. Olympia Democrats need a beat down.
  3. I thought after all that egg you were forced to wipe from your face in the wake of the census worker suicide, you'd be acting a bit more cautiously with your keyboard.
  4. And I thought conservatives were all about capitalism and neo liberal economic policy???
  5. Sorry Prole, but this guy was clearly one of yours. Probably spent time in Bellingham, even! From his own rant: (Which, by the way, sounds a lot like yours.) "The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need. The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed. Joe Stack (1956-2010) 02/18/2010"

  7. Number 20 sounds a lot like giving ten bucks to the people of Haiti and then telling the world what a great philanthropist you are.
  8. he coulda always taught gym "Software Engineer" is always a suspect class, IMO.
  9. Nah. Just don't like people who try to pretend they're pacifists when their history demonstrates otherwise. This looks kinda like the war he's been hoping for.

    Pay Crisis

I'm not saying it's a good idea--it isn't. But it's clear that entitlement spending isn't sustainable, and I think you'll see movements to stem the flow via means testing or other mechanisms. No doubt politicians will learn what the "third rail" is all about in the process. No matter; eventually the checks will bounce. Besides; aren't you the one who agrees with Obama's plan to cut Medicare benefits by $500Bn?

    Pay Crisis

Um, "lock box?" WTF? Obama's driving us toward the cliff at 4x the speed of GW and you're acting like everything's off the table? But, hey, I'm glad you're finally waking up re those ass clowns that been runnin' Oly for damn near 30 years...
  13. Circlin' the wagons/covering for a friend. I like it. But I think, deep down, you know the deal. That old guy's getting more crotchety with each passing year.

    Pay Crisis

I agree! And since you're on the subject of Olympia, I think Gregoire should be recalled immediately.
  15. No. Not really. But I'm sure we can all agree that a moderator outing a poster in a most vindictive manner--ala full name and city--is wrong.
  16. It would seem that you don't join the Spray forum much because you can't keep up, period. Unlike Tvash, many of us have jobs. And wit aside, we also often express political opinions that would not be looked on favorably by existing or potential employers. I've protected the identity of people I've vehemently disagreed with on this board because exposing them could mean a smackdown from their commanding officer. If Spray offers an (almost) consequence-free romper room for borderline psychotics, a sounding board for undigested opinions and ideas, or a place to pin up nasty pictures of Pamela Anderson without regard for your real life, job, family, googleprobe, then who cares? If maintaining privacy and people's freedom to speak their minds by protecting identities scares you, why don't you run back to the other DOZEN forums on this site where nobody gives a fuck? Well said for once. As for me, well, my real name is Patt Gallerkins. There you have it.
  17. I would think that you, Ivan, would be concerned about the "outing" here as much as anyone. Were it that your infamous Ptarmigan Ridge climb were enjoined with your true identity...well, you see what I mean. So why is it ok for moderators like Matt and assorted tools here to employ this tactic?
  18. When you start showing an even modest ability to show an accurate picture of the reality in AMERICA, I might start taking you seriously. More than a billion without health care in a nation who's political system you envy. I'd say we're closer to the ideal here than the folks who built that shinny white train. But please, don't allow reality to wake you from your own private China. Stick to the Global Imaginary--it's a better fit for you.
  19. Given that these threads are usually started by either Raindawg or you in an insulting manner, are you asking me to delete the entire thread? This isn't a JOB, since I don't get paid, and babysitting your pet rant is not really what I want to do for hours a day, every day. Your rants are not an asset to the site. You want custom service? PAY ME A DECENT WAGE. I’d be happy to moderate a forum on climbing ethics and style. I’ll work for free. How refreshing would it be to discuss one of the most important issues of modern climbing in a spray-free forum? There is no lack of interest in the topic….I suspect such a forum would generate plenty of traffic, pleasing both site owners and sponsors. I also think we’d hear from a greater number of participants representing a broad spectrum of attitudes in a forum where spray is not tolerated. You would sell trillions of micknuggots.
  20. My heart goes out to the guy's family. Died doing something dangerous that he probably loved as much as life. But you do have to wonder about Canadian engineering...

    HEY FUCKWADS!

yeah? What pic? I know, lets all guess what it would be! My guess, it was this tattoo: That's funny. Feck pulled that cartoon when I posted it a couple months back--and sent me a warning PM. What an oaf.
  22. Being an otherwise proud Tacomaite, I can tell you exactly what happens after the last spike is pounded and the unemployed start hanging 'round the city. It's not pretty. My point is, Prole's shiny Chinese train doesn't even begin to show an accurate picture of the reality in China.
  23. Um, yes: Bullet trains for China's 300 million party-loyal urbanites--even as her other 800 million citizens search for their next meal. Thanks for clarifying your utopia.
