  1. Here are a few.
  2. Flew around the summit tower of Waddington with Whitesaddle in 2019--and that was enough to scare the @#!$ out of me. Very intimidating. (What good is a recon if you're not willing to say NO? 😁) The NW Peak, however, was absolutely beautiful. Would love to go back and climb it from the Dais Glacier, or, maybe, Combatant Col and roll the dice beneath the seracs. If you decide to scale back your plans give me a call. In any event, I took some decent photos if you're interested.
  3. Those are some great photos of a great looking trip. Just when I'm ready to ditch my real camera for my phone cam you have to go and post photos like this!
  4. Elites aren't necessarily wealthy. ($179.00 tickets at Crystal Mountain notwithstanding.) In fact, when I think of elites, I think more about folks who have a wealth of free time on their hands compared to the general working population. I think of public sector employees. Insiders. Credentialed. Politicos. Cosmopolitan. Don't you wonder why MORA is leaving access open only on weekends, and not, say, Sunday and Monday? It's simple, really--elites tend to have weekends off. The rest can eat cake.
  5. Conflicted about this. One one hand, it seems absurd to claim short staffing issues with, what, over 100 winter employees and millions in heavy equipment now just sitting idle in the park. What's more, I'm not sure how keeping the road open during the week is any less labor-intense than prepping it for opening on Saturday mornings. Unless, of course, the real goal here is to allow the road to get so buried during the week that they just throw up their hands and proclaim, "Paradise is now closed until late spring!" On the other hand, Paradise hasn't always been open year round. Recall the book "A Year in Paradise," by Floyd Schmoe describing his isolation as caretaker at the inn during the long winters before the ski hill era. Furthermore, I'm not heartbroken these days to hear that a taxpayer-funded playground for urban elites has been throttled. Let's do the same with Benaroya Hall. I'm guessing cars will start to pile up at the bottom of Crystal Mountain Blvd as skiers and other winter recreationalists seek the path of least resistance to MORA snow.
  6. If we use history as our North Star, he is more likely mellowing nicely at Camp Schurman.
  7. Where did he go?
  8. Hmmmmm, still way too quiet. I think I'll go snowshoe the shit out of someone else's ski tracks and then post about it here! 🤪
  9. What are cc.com "warning points?" I believe I need some of them. Mask people are the worst.
  10. Mount Vernon is AOK. 👍 My daughter and her family live in Snohomish. Close enough.
  11. Only a part-timer here in WA now. Mostly reside in a good state, at the foot of a lonely mountain range with very small glaciers, a few grizzlies--and absolutely no face masks, patagucci attire or urban arrogance. How's everyone here? I see some some diehards still about, and a few good trip reports. Mount Hunter, even! Sheesh. Incredible! Where's that crazy eastern European guy with the German and Russian heritage? And that chubby goatee lightbulb artist who turned a Liberty Ridge TR into a treatise on anal sex? And Ivan THC? Is he still Zinndoctrinating young children? I actually liked him. His Ptarmigan Ridge TR remains my all-time favorite. His gate-buster Volvo video a close second.😂 Still climbing, I guess fit for a 60-something. But mostly the same old high alpine traverse type stuff in a new range. Endurance, navigation, scrambling, beautiful campsites, fun. Survived a couple bouts with death a few years ago, but not in the mountains. Recovered and retired. Pub Club? Maybe. But I would never set foot in Seattle. Haven't, in fact, for over seven years. But I have to be fair about this--it's not the city itself I dislike, rather, it's the people who live there.😁 Merry Christmas!
  12. Pass. Excellent.

    Is it Now?

It's dark in here, smells dank. Like an abandoned bunker. Water dripping in another room. Chain-lamp is out. Gotta be an old breaker panel in here somewhere. So, who's dead? Who's alive? Assisted living facilities? Prison? Mental institutions? Reeducation camp? Did anyone get out of the PRW in time? Do people here still climb mountains like they used to? Let's run some routine tests: libtard
  14. A word of caution here, I placed an order last April, paid through PayPal, and still have not received my order. My email inquiries have gone unanswered. I don't regret having made a "donation" to the Pargeter cause--but am disappointed that I never received my map.
  15. Thin skinned lib tard admin. What a sad little man who bans the use of words he doesn't like. Thanks for the demonstration/confirmation of libthink: "Faggotty," "Republicunt," "Conservatatard," and, of course, "*" are all a-ok here--as long as a bona-fide cc.com liberal is the user. "Lib*tard", however, is offensive and must be banned. You're a real piece of work, Oly.
  16. Conservatard Libtard Tard This has been a test. The test was failed. No surprise.
  17. Well done, San Francisco.

    Go Bernie

Bernie is, apparently, a pro 2nd Amendment socialist. In fact, he has a very, very nuanced voting record on a wide range of issues.

    Go Bernie

Early choices: Scott Walker, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, and, maybe, Rand Paul. Non-Starters: Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Rick Perry, Chris Christie (subject to change). And, oh yea, ANYONE BUT HILLARY.
  21. Nevermind pot, there are more and more employers who test and or refuse to hire tobacco users. Corporate nannies getting to be as bad as government nannies.

    Go Bernie

Hillary would be an Obama cake with corruption-flavored frosting.
