That you would declare American responsibility for the Halabja attack--with only the flimsiest of connections to back your assertion--says more about your own sense of self-loathing and your own deep seated desire to bring down the house than it does about any declared 'concern' for said house. Very dark.

You're absolutely right re bonuses. But what GGK suggested is something much different.

Sums it up pretty well, IMO: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/15/cheney-dont-blame-bush-administration-economic-woes/

You've proved once again that you can take the boy outta the commie, but you can't take the commie out of the boy.

can't i accuse you of the same thing? from the link you posted: "The United States did not supply any arms to Iraq until 1982, when Iran's growing military success alarmed American policymakers. It then did so every year until 1988. Although most other countries never hesitated to sell military hardware directly to Saddam Hussein's regime, the United States, equally keen to protect its interests in the region, adopted a more subtle approach. Howard Teicher served on the United States National Security Council as director of Political-Military Affairs. According to his 1995 affidavit and other interviews with former Regan and Bush administration officials, the Central Intelligence Agency secretly directed armaments and high-tech components to Iraq through false fronts and friendly third parties such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kuwait, and they quietly encouraged rogue arms dealers and other private military companies to do the same: "The CIA, including both CIA Director Casey and Deputy Director Gates, knew of, approved of, and assisted in the sale of non-U.S. origin military weapons, ammunition and vehicles to Iraq. My notes, memoranda and other documents in my NSC files show or tend to show that the CIA knew of, approved of, and assisted in the sale of non-U.S. origin military weapons, munitions and vehicles to Iraq." " Sounds like it was a reasonable approach for the time. But this in no way bolsters your claim that Iraq was a "puppet regime" of the United States.

huh? we pumped plenty of cash and weapons to him as our puppet to counter-balance iran, another beast of our own making hey, it might be wikipedia, but it can't ALL by lies, eh? and just for fun...it's alwasy fun to see rummy hanging out w/ the big H! From your own link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arms_sales_to_Iraq_1973-1990 Iraq Arms Suppliers 1973-1990: Soviet Union 68.9%; France 12.7%; China 11.8%; Eqypt 1.3%; United States 0.5% C'mon, Ivan, at least read the links you post.

You know damn well that the rules in effect now have been in place since the beginning--and The Republic still stands. From the Trail of Tears, to Elmira Prison, to Wilson's Sedition Act, to the internment of American citizens under FDR--some really shitty stuff, and all far worse than a few religious fanatics rounded up fighting American soldiers in far away places and sent to Guantanamo Bay. You want to change the rules? Fine. But don't then try to wash your hands when the fruit hits the basket. I would point out that your tying of The United States to Saddam's atrocities during the 80's and 90's is ridiculous. He was never a 'puppet' of the US. FWIW - Lt Cali should have been shot.

My favorite Orwell: “We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.” If some non-existent, Utopian version of our values leads to our demise then what replaces us will not likely be better.

When their "rights" conflict with my (our) right to live (ie: they want to kill us as in the picture above) then I become more concerned about enshrined laws that apply here and less about extraneous law as it exists elsewhere.

Who did they execute? The Sudan handed up OBL on a platter and Clinton turned them down. End of story, really. tim mcveigh? okay, so it 4 months into bush's watch, but he'd been arrested, tried and sentenced under clinton's a.g., yes? he did also try to kill osama. Any overseas copies for valid comparison? I've never asserted that US citizens like McVeigh shouldn't have their day in court. This straw man thing usually ain't your style, Ivan. Also, that whole cruise missile attack thaaang corresponded nicely with another story that broke that morning, hmmmm?

Easy enough. Here are a couple of little gems:

Who did they execute? The Sudan handed up OBL on a platter and Clinton turned them down. End of story, really.

There aren't. But presenting an ever-growing fake resume is very poor form.
-
Spin it however Oberman tells you, but 9/11 was a direct result of Clinton and Berger's adoption of the policies you want to return us to. Given your past (pre-Obama) glee-filled laments here about the fate of our "dying American empire", I can't help but think you secretly desire to see more attacks.
-
Hey dumbshit, they already do. Again: Aside from apparently being Seattle's number one ACLU groupie, what are your qualifications to endlessly pontificate and cite constitutional law here or anywhere with the authority you try so pathetically to project?
-
Are you kidding? Clinton already tried what you propose--and this was the result:
-
No, but I often wake up with one.
-
It's funny the way liberals so often confuse love with respect. But it's sad that they seem so eager to believe our enemies and so loathe American soldiers and operatives.
-
No additional points are necessary when you're arguing with someone who is living an online fantasy life. Do the ACLU folks secretly roll their eyes when you walk through the door? Seriously, dude, what are your qualifications to preach constitutional law here--or anywhere?
-
Your views regarding the constitution are selective, but your sense of self-importance is unmatched. Too bad you're not well grounded in most of the topics you choose to pontificate about.

The Ruger Mini-14 is the greatest rifle ever made, and any attempt ban it would be downright un american. Hell, I'll bet there are ten million copies of that rifle in this country alone. Good luck with that, Pelosi. This is probably one of the few issues--maybe the only issue-- that the Dems can effectively shoot themselves to death with before 2012. A lot of good, loyal, union Democrats wouldn't take too kindly to this kind of nonsense.
