On a relatively sunny day in the winter you can climb at tahquitz. It might be 45 - 50 degrees. SoCal climbers would call that alpine. Other than that, you should take up surfing and climbing at J-tree.

Reynolds pub club was a good time, but so was the afterhours sesh with the local hoods and their fat sack of After a groggy start on Sunday, Closet Secrets at thin WI4, with some mixed moves, was one of the coolest ice climbs I've done. To the right of Closet Secrets, the dubious overhanging testpiece, Shreddie, has been tamed by a bolt ladder that passes the major difficulties on the right. All in all, glad I finally got to climb around Lilloett. It was defenitly worth the 5 hr. drive.

I had my Silveretta 500's mounted at REI, b/c FF won't do AT bindings since they're so dank, and I didn't want to drive all the way to Pro Ski. The dude at REI told me that my plastic climbing boots wouldn't work in the bindings, and couldn't understand that I was going to use the skiis to approach climbs. I was like, just mount the fucking bindings and shut up. But they did a good job mounting them and I've got no complaints about that.
