  1. Damn them butt sniffin' dirt hounds I like dogs a lot. Some are obviously more easy to control than others. Those ones are ok at the crags for me. I even like Sisu Suomi's pit bull. Even though it chewed through a tree it was anchored to while we climbed up some choss this spring. It also has a bowling ball with a rope attached for a toy out in his back yard. I tell you that thing has energy! It constantly jumps up and slaps you in the face with it's tongue. Hahahha. For some people that is too much and I understand. The only bad thing about this dog is that it thinks everyone loves it so it's always beggin for attention. Most people being scared of pits well you can guess the rest...
  2. I proposed it for November 6.. There. I cannot make it next week. The brew house there is pretty cool and has lots of different beers.
  3. I have never been nor do I plan to move as high or higher than 20000 feet. Therefore I dont know what could have been done by Krakauer. I read his book and thought that there was some evidence that he was not exaclty helping though. You can call him all you want but you were not there so what do you know?
  4. must have felt like razor blades of ice on the skin
  5. I use a hip belay all the time. Beckey told me once that he liked to use them a lot too. If it worked for him it's good enough for me.
  6. I could be: Or:

That dude cracks me up. Sisu is your family in town still? Let's get into the mountains this weekend.. Send me an email I never see you online any more.
  8. Maybe hobnailed boots will be manufactured again one day.
  9. I propose the November 6 one to be at the: Issaquah Brew House 35 W. Sunset Way Suite C Issaquah, WA 98027-3843 Phone: (425) 557-1911 Brew Pub link: http://www.nwbrewpage.com/wabpubs/Issaquah.html [This message has been edited by Cpt.Caveman (edited 10-23-2001).]
  10. At least you left one of the more technical vertical bushwhack routes for us to do next season [This message has been edited by Cpt.Caveman (edited 10-23-2001).]
  11. First off bummer he lost his wallet! Death to the thieves! Second conrgrats Tell Brian to start drinking that water when he is dehydrated too. I do it all the time as long as it is not stagnated or have beavers living closely upstream. A real headlamp is pretty cool too as you probably noticed. Having good gear is one of the 5 T's of climbing well. Here's the only 4 that I can recall. I only posses Tools and Tenacity Tools Tenacity Talent Training
  12. Bastard!

  14. I vote for the first one in November to be held east. Is North Bend or Issaquah good Mike? I hope to meet The Wotan of Ballard as well as meet this elusive "Backcountry" [This message has been edited by Cpt.Caveman (edited 10-22-2001).]

I know threatening and all I bet he's 4'8" and weight 85 pounds and gets scared climbing on The Tooth. Did you see his insulting inflammatory writing on it? "Scraping the Bottom of the tick list barrel"
  16. quote: Originally posted by vkaspar: dont get me wrong I think alpinelite has some good humor (well, when you get through all the Javascript errors anyway). v You can disable those errors with your software..... Obviously you take too much stuff seriously and need to take a chill pill. Just remember this part: If you don't like it don't look at it! Gee what a concept. I think what most people's problem is they don't know Mike and take it too personal as you did. You never answered my previous question either. I bet there is some alternative reason you were so offended.....
  17. The other one that rivals it is the Tarzan Awards !!!!!!
  18. I find complete humor in that page! Maybe Mike will let me create one to put up there for the winter season Hahhahaha My guess is that you insulted Mike in a previous incident?! [This message has been edited by Cpt.Caveman (edited 10-22-2001).]
  19. Only real wussies do it with ropes. Free solo is where it's at.

Here, it rained all weekend, didn't have a chance to get on anything. Didn't get on nothing? Ida swore I saw you and Lambone doin' the moondance on top of Mt Si this saturday. I had my camera and will post the evidence once I get my photos developed and scanned!
  21. And then I would kick those gonads into outer space
  22. Did your test work Bunkpoint?
  23. Trust me James, If I could have made it I would have gone. White Caps on Colchuck Lake sounds interesting.
  24. Little Si and then Dirt Slingin' Mike O. and I did the then slimy hand crack Mambo Jambo. Then we met Bruce over at WWall to get punked (round 3 for me arg!) on some overhang route I could barely hang on to. Lots of hanging on bolts and long belay sessions with Gri Gri device in order. After 1 session on his warmup I was done. Bruce made it to the chains on Technorigine. Sunday I shoveled dirt all day and went to a slide show. 25. quote: Originally posted by forrest_m: and whats more, his most famous route? (drumroll please...) CAVEMAN M9+ (i'm not making this up) He obviously knows how to name his routes. Maybe if I meet him I can give him a lesson or three to get him over the edge and outclimb Stevie Haston next season. He'll have to bone up on his one arm curls
