  6. I dont need to try it. My max is 5.9 dirt but I can follow 5.10- dirt like many others here.... So what? It's funny how you pick my comment out of the half dozen [ 10-15-2002, 05:07 PM: Message edited by: Cpt.Caveman ]

Incidentally, Jordan Peters and Mike Layton, you owe me $250 each. Sure anyone can contrive a new route. By the way I think most of us were talking about the Cascades in south of the Canadian Border. You guys up there have lots of territory to still explore. It's not exactly the same game down here. I'd like to see hundreds of good unclimbed ridges, buttresses, or faces that are worth the effort and aesthetically better than existing lines near them in the WA cascades. Good rock too.

  10. I know a number of people that can climb 5.10+ in the mountains first try and some have done it on a new route. They don't seem to care about posting it on the internet... Some don't have computers... Is that the new "hardman" criteria these days. Seems like some low standards since some people were doing that 20 years ago. There is a lot more to climbing than new routes since beckey took most of the good lines here anyhow.
  11. what time are the first bums showing up
  12. I've met a whole lot of suckers from Colorado and California.. I even used to live on different sides of the Sierras myself. Anyway to the point of climbing through bushes slide alder and rivers- It's a way of mountaineering here. It's expected. I've seen plenty of people from other states thrash around better than locals here. But I have seen a lot of whiners too.

  14. Weird I see the links as broken. Fix it alex or we'll have your skull on a platter [ 10-15-2002, 01:10 PM: Message edited by: Cpt.Caveman ]
  15. Yeah I did a midnight ascent this year already. Anyone wanting to climb Midway at night I'm in. Sounds like a blast.
  16. Last season Jens and Ben did a 5.10 route on Nooksack Tower.... I know plenty of people that can climb 5.10 Alpine but there just are not too many superb lines left. Seems like Beckey and Nelson mopped most of em up already
  17. I dont think a magazine should have to show only the latest new difficult climbs. I like moderates as I would guess most people would. Great sharma did 5.15 b well it aint gonna make my day. Seeing a peak or route I never knew about etc that is doable gets me more excited than any 5.13+ flashed alpine route to be honest.
  18. You were there in spirit
  19. Topos are great. But sometimes all that needs to be done is desribe it in words too, if the photo is good enough.
  20. Wohoo!! Steve is da man!
  21. You're not the first one to do that hehehehe. I've done it too.
  22. They dont call it meat grinder for nothing
