Re-Here you are Cave... Avy Scale from CSAC -Mike ********************* Thanks. I think that somebody else was asking for the info not me.

X-treme alpinists only wear flip flops in winter. Tiddies brand

RE-Hey Tex, I'm a little slow. Can you elaborate on the meaning of your post? ************************************ What are you doing to do about it if it was meant in a smart ass tone. Nothing but whine. Why dont you play internet cop somewhere else.

Here's the east face of Pyramid a week old too. Bet it's looking icier now Leejams' photo -huge image- but detailed if you want to go climb it.
-
Duh. Only better if snow stops falling and someone plows the trail for you. Where's Jay at
-
Bomber ice and *trees*. Not like we got that much pro ourselves...... You'll never really know the conditions from the couch unless someone tells you.
-
Just go up there you pooze. Of course the technical climbing will be better . Be careful on the walk in. - avvy slopes-
-
Probably better off with some mk-19 automatic grenade launchers
-
You crack me up z. I'll have to bring some guns next time.

Alex it's like that in all retail bs. I used to do returns every day in a grocery store. As much shit as people give for groceries I would expect more for overpriced hype gear. If you can't deal with a customer get outta the business. I suspect some of you toot for Feathered Friends because you know or did know someone tthat worked there. I say the argument has legitimate points. But I dont really care. I think the only thing I ever bought there was a guidebook.

Not related but--- I posted something brief about our encounters saturday on the mountaineers creek road up towards the Colchuk Lake trail. We heard the rush of the snow several times including breaking trees, and grinding boulders. We hightailed it outta there. Didn't think that area was prone to much avvy. But looking at the map you are actually contouring the south and west slopes of an 8,500 foot peak. There was about 12-18 inches of snow max in most places. The danger level was defnitely significant. Bummer for them.

I lived in that state for several years. Mustang Ranch is out of business last I heard on the news. I suppose I could even leave as early as 12-30 or Monday for those without a calendar.

I'm fucking bored. Anyone want to take off to the rockies for some ice on the first until the 5th?
-
I called matt but never heard anything back. Maybe I'll go summit mt si solo instead.

There is a simple kit that can be had to change between the two types of snowshoes actually. I believe also that they would fit on most any crampon out there. By going to the grivel website you can view more info.
-
There is more than one type of grivel snowshoe. One style has crampons already while the other assumes you will have some on. The grivel snowshoes are good and grip better than my msr ones. Anybody wanna trade for the ones that come without crampons for my denali classic msrs? Violino is a multi-purpose snowshoe that may be used on a variety of mountain terrains. The snowshoe binding may be attached directly to crampons while the crampons are on the boots, allowing confident use on steep icy slopes. Transition from snowshoes to crampons at the base of a route is safe and effortless. Heel lifters reduce calf-muscle strain on steep inclines. The Violino may be adjusted to most boot sizes. It can be split into two smaller sections to carry in your pack. VIOLINO is still one of the lightest snow shoes on the market. 1690 gr 54,49 ozs

I've never owned a digital camera. All my shots are scanned from film and I didnt take a photo anyway.

I'd like to get outside. Send me your phone digits. Maybe we can work something out.
-
No ice there yet as of today either. I got a good look at it this time. You need more snow on the bowl above it for this one to form better. Maybe the new snow out there will help it come into shape soon.

It was all the way down yesterday and today. It looked pretty hard though at the bottom. For those that want to know.... The Pencil- could not really tell that well. I *Speculate* it's not all there.

http://www.snafflehound.com/images/Colonial13.bmp Credit leejams. BTW the North and East faces of Pyramid Peak were well iced and looked ready. If the weather and conditions improve somebody should try them out. Lee has some photos that he emailed me after our trip.

Col spankhismonkey and I skied up a few miles on the Mountaineer creek Road yesterday from Icicle Road. About 2 miles up we heard snapping trees, grinding boulders and shit a few seperate times so we left. We knew the danger was to be more significant this weekend. Better safe than sorry. No Aasgard Pass ski for me this weekend
