The files I was sent weren't .jpg files. In fact I couldn't open them! But here is the first of what hopefully turns out to be series. Download the attached file and modify it to show your problems! PS - Chuck that means you! PP -

These guys (Shoreline) moved to Spokane a few months ago and it was just brought to my attention that they have the same street address as Mountain Gear. I sent a n email asking if they were related companies but have yet to receive a response thus I can only conclude that they are now share the same ownership. Sadly they have stopped stocking some items that they use to carry. PP

With all the talk in the US of a Constitutional amendment I found this interesting:Constitution. PP

From last November: Short but fun overhanging crack. Crux is a section of 1 1/4". This climb isn't in the new guide. Just downhill and a bit west in the large talus field is a wild boulder problem - the "Bachar Cracker" of the Icicle. Roof crack ending in thin hands. PP

The idea: Create an online community generated guidebook to the UW Climbing Rock. The Process: This thread will consist of posts for each of the "faces" on the UW Climbing Rock. Each post will have an attachment. The attachment will be a .jpg file of each face showing the rocks and cracks. Contributors will download the .jpg and annotate it to show the problem they wish to add to the guidebook. The annotated file should then be sent to: UWguidebook@hotmail.com. The submissions will then be compiled into a .pdf file suitable for downloading. Timmy has volunteered to create a UW Rock page on CC.com where the file could be downloaded. Update Most of the templates are up and running. Special thanks to MisterE who sent some of the blancks from the guidebook to the rock he wrote with Scotty Hopkins a few years ago. PP

You are correct in stating that most sport climbs at JT are difficult; however, without reference to a guide I can think of two areas easily accessed with 5.11 sport climbs - Oyster Bar and Love Nest. JT has a wide variety of types of climbs (ie face, crack, trad, sport, well protected and runout.) Alas, it doesn't have long routes and I can not think of any sport 5.7 routes there either. The bouldering can be highball but there are hundreds if not thousands of shorter problems - -eg: Stem Gem, Gunsmoke Traverse, Streetcar. It is a great area to explore especially if you have several weeks to do so. Again I would go to Arizona in February. PP

On behalf of all the other gapers who went skiing, flesh out that darn TR. WHo! What! Where!

My suggestion is Arizona. Why? Great climbing and better odds of great weather. As far as trying to hit several places on one trip I usually prefer to hang in one spot. If you choose Arizona think about hitting Red Rocks for a day or two on the way. A day or two in J-Tree wouldnt be my recomendation if you haven't been there before. Colt is a bit off the mark when he says that Jtree is all about trad or bouldering. There are many good well protected sport routes there as well

There are some other boulders scattered around the hillside.

I am looking for local shops selling 7/32" flat head bolts suitable for securing climbing holds in a home gym. Anyone have any local sources for this item? Would Home Depot have them? Happy Holidays. PP
