  1. I've used them some, I think it is a great all-arounder. I wouldn't say that it'd bounce of hard ice. Has just about the same swing weight of many other BD tools.
  2. Chill bro, I'm just playin'...anyone I've roped up with and had great climbs with will allways be my friend. But eriks my bro too, and I gots his back... What you said to him was below the belt. I've never banned anyone and never plan too. The other moderators know how I feel about it, and I respect their decisions as well. I volounteered to keep a couple of Forums on topic, and that is what I do as a moderator.
  3. You're only allowed two 70# check-ins. We had expedition gear, 6 tents and about 500 meters of rope, plus all of our mountain food...it adds up quick. We should have baught used rope in one of the ghetto kathmand mountain shops. My buddy now rents a storage space at a hotel in Kathmandu, which is the way to do it if you climb there often.
  4. brass knuckles
  5. I don't see any humor in the context of what erik said. It's just plain meanness. yeah vege...you fuckstick....sheesh. and I though you were cool
  6. And it's dumping
  7. When I flew to Nepal in 2000, our checked bags were maxed out at the weight limit, so we carried all our metal hardwear on in our backpacks. We had ice tools, crampons, "kifeblade" pitons, ice screws...all that stuff. And they didn't give us any hassel. those were the days... The security check in Tokyo was pretty funny though, this petite Japannese woman with white gloves on pulling out my tools and crampons, you should have seen here face... "They, are for mountain climbing"...making climbing motions with my arms. "ohhhh....ah so" nod, nod, bow, bow. Sweeet I doubt they'd let you'd take even poles through carry on now, aybe if you were elderly or handycapped.
  8. If any of you guys wants to climb/ski Mt Mclaughlin this winter and would like a partner...let me know. It is the closet "big" peak to my house, about 45 min drive.
  9. post this kind of stuff in Spray por vavor
  10. scored a bag of about 40 tigers milk bars and some anchovies on camp VI. and a old mystery can on top of zodiac, turned out to be some weird bean thing, couldn't read the label. glad I didn't get botcholism...
  11. Alex, I have seen lots of moccasyms get resoled by Ramuta and they looked great. he's done my red chili slippers 2wice and they are still rockin! Don't wait to long though, once the leather underneath the rubber is damaged, they are pretty much trashed. He will let you know, it's worth a try.
  12. hey uh....forgive my ignorance, but what peak are you talking about? thanks...

  15. FYI- Patagonia will fix this stitching for free. I had them fix an old pair of Talus pants that had similar use. Drop them off in the seattle store and it's no hassel.
  16. I'm more worried about the washing machine wearing out my scholler stuff.
  17. A friend of mine works for a small company based in Livingston Montana. All hand sewn, good quality materials. I can't remember the name, I'll get back to you on it.

    holy shit
  19. I wonder if there is a corelation between people who are cc.com adicts and people who played alot of video games when they were kids. I openly admit that I am 100% obsesive cumpulsive...
  20. My favorite arcadfe game of all time is Daytona 500, the sit down stock car game. we had it in the Union Building in Bozeman and I'd spend about 5 dollars a day on it....more than I ussualy spent on food for a day. But i could beat anyone...
  21. I spent more time shooting guns when I was a kid than playing video games. And I sold my Sega for a skateboard after a month. But video games were cool too. I had this one friend who was like a master at all nintendo games. i hated going to his hous and playing with him. He would play Mario for like an hour before he died, then I would get the controller and die in like a minute and a half. As soon as he pulled out Zelda I would just leave
  22. or maybe you just get to go climbing alot more than me. or are hard on your gear for some reason. since '95 I have never needed to replace a single pick. you can use your 3 dollar gloves and be happy, good for you, I like these ones.
  23. Do you mean Golden Axe? That game was the shit! And it was cool before all the Lord of the Rings Movie Hype...I liked being the dwarf with the bg ass axe!
