  1. Daring post but spot on Offwhite Raindawg = Don Ryan Pope = Eric Mohler Lucky = Lucky Curtis Gibson Actually? No, it's not important. That battle was fought long ago, and Raindawg's faction lost decidedly. He's like a southerner arguing how it was so much better back when the negroes knew their place. The world has moved so much beyond his black and white position, he's a historical irrelevancy.
  2. Thanks for the update/boundary pic and a special thanks for your time and work Matt
  3. There are no secret crags, those that don't spray on the internet can usually find out about the latest lines go'n up by ask'n local crag rats... BTW keep the pic's smaller so the tread is easy'r to read
  4. Is nevermind included in the closure? The closure line in the pic looks arbitrary
  5. Burning spears 10-C easy top rope setup just lean over the top, good anchors, easy walk around, nice belay spot Stay away from sunshine wall on the weekend...it's a zoo, with lots of rockfall and if you wander around on top look'n for a top rope knock'n down rocks expect people to get pissed.

  7. So helmets and protective clothing in automobiles???? To me the right to freedom outweighs the quest to save you money. Lighten up on the hyperbole with the automotive travelwear comment, Lucky. And know this: There is a long-held notion in this Land of Liberty of ours that goes something like, "Yes, Citizen, you have your rights. And yes, your rights end when they infringe upon the rights of other Citizens." I am reminded of this little snippet below that I saw in an article about 5 years ago. I liked it so much back then that I saved it to my hard drive. Now seems like a great time to pull it out and dust it off. A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments's (ABATE) arguments against helmet laws are largely based on the dubious premise that they violate individual rights or invade privacy. Gimme a break. Maryland has invested billions of dollars to build a public road system. So if the state decides to require users of that network to take steps to avoid spilling the contents of their skulls on public pavement, it is well within its rights. Don't like helmets? Ride on private property. A federal court in Massachusetts said the same thing a little more elegantly in turning down a challenge to a state helmet law: "From the moment of injury, society picks the person up off the highway; delivers him to a municipal hospital and municipal doctors; provides him with unemployment compensation if, after recovery, he cannot replace his lost job; and, if the injury causes permanent disability, may assume responsibility for his and his family's subsistence. We do not understand a state of mind that permits plaintiff to think that only he himself is concerned." Add to that the cumulative toll of repeatedly treating the victims of grisly accidents have on the first-responders and medical personnel. Anything we can do to mitigate the stresses on them serves a public purpose. So, if ABATE wants those of us who drive larger vehicles to look out for motorcyclists, we have a right to ask bikers to look out for themselves. That includes putting a little distance between motorcycle groups and the tavern industry. Ahhh yes i remember when I first joined abate in Maryland 38 years ago and they had a helmet law, one of the reasons I moved here was no helmet law, hey Harleys are like Cadillacs not race cars, so it went like this.. I joined ABATE of Washington 34 years ago, soon we had a coordinator that was in it for political gain he wanted to get into politics, so we gave and gave to the state than they put helmets on us anyway now Maryland has no helmet law... statistically helmets save head injurer's but add to broken necks...dead or vegetable ..with this way of think'n you could be were'n a helmet in an automobile. FREEDOM trumps MANDATES Obviously you have never enjoyed the freedom of the wind in your hair or had a bee up your helmet at 60 mph...mandate: bolts to replace gear on established routes for safety, how would you feel about that?...Let those who ride decide...Let those who climb decide
  8. So helmets and protective clothing in automobiles???? To me the right to freedom outweighs the quest to save you money.
  9. I once T boned a driver that ran a red light she broke her pelvis, if she would have been belted in she would have probably died being the door was half way into the driver’s seat, I witnessed a roll over that the driver was were’n a seat belt he walked away so it goes both ways I don’t believe in seatbelt or helmet laws it should be my right to choose, I would not ride a crotch rocket without a helmet or get on the freeway without a seat belt
  10. Garth being accepted by the climbers that developed the area than jack'n the beta, changing names and rateings of routes(every route on the black slab is not 5.9) and writing a guide book without First Accent information in it, is not only rude it's a smack in the face of climbing history.
  11. Due to our jobs my son and I have placed thousands of bolts, glued or wedge anchors on the job that are inspected after placement, I think we have it down...when placing a bolt on a route many factors are taken in ...rock quality, fall factor,in line with the climb or fall, if RAINDAWG would approve you get what you get. I have climbed just about all the routes in north bend area, the rock quality of the new routes is no different than that the rest of the area, in fact better than some of the other new climbs going in. Bail'n off a route would be the only reason to trust your life to one bolt...so Visually evaluate the bolt before you commit your life to it.
  12. Never trust your life to one bolt! Every winter water penetrates rock and freezes..Eventfully over time all routes will be rubble at the base!
  13. This bolt did not come from any of the new routes ...my son does not use rawl 5 piece bolts and this does not even look like rock from the new routes...I guess this and many other reasons are why I put my name on my hangers. You owe my son an apology … he did not just grab a roto hammer and start bolt’n routes, it was given to him by me for a present, he has climbed and help set routes with me and many many other routes setters (LW MF JY MM DM ect) and is not new to the game, these are good routes enjoyed by myself, DM and MM and many others so take your smack and put it where the sun don’t shine

    Union Thugery

Dunno fuck-O. I went to college; paid for it myself. Also, Unions might have gotten the 40 hour work week.... guess we don't need em anymore; especially if they are going to embrace this thuggish behavior. Those fat-cat leaders can eat-a-dick and so can anyone who allows and supports their antics. With that kind of talk It would appear you did not get much in the way of Intelligence from that collage education! So your say'n that you where put to work and out of the house and on your own at 18 like me and paid for a collage education too.... what a man!!!!

No union leader is going to condone that violent behavior because it does not support their goals. Once again, there are bad apples in every bunch but that doesn't mean we should throw out the whole bushel. You bring up an interesting question. What would happen if there were no more unions? I believe that most people seem to think that things would go along same as ever or get better. Unions are on the way out but look at how our work force has changed. People regularly work more than 40 hours and not spending time with their family. Wages are stagnant or dropping when compared to actual purchase power. Pensions are gone. Medical is becoming too expensive even if you got it. From what I see, the things that unions fought hard for are being taken back. Without unions around, your 40 hour workweek and overtime pay and everything else that we call workers rights may disappear. The only organization that lobbies for workers rights (union and non union workers) is the unions, especially state workers unions. Without unions, who will lobby for us? How long till all workers rights are taken away? Anyone who seriously thinks we don't need unions (and their occasional stupidity) needs to seriously think about where we would be without because you may get what you wish for, good or bad. Well said  your much more PC than me I can be irascible on the subject!

Unions got you the 40 hour wook week, health care, pensions a fair family working wage...never seen a union WORKER getting rich...just a family wage. The union fat cats can be a little corrupt but they protect their working base, unlike your more corrupt bankers or politicians, I guess those pour UAW workers that could not afford a collage education don't deserve a fair shake, what a bummer not being born to fat rich parents!Oh yeah those union guys are bleed'n and sweat'n all day for a wage to support their family not spray'n smack on the internet...spoiled bunch of..............$#^@#$!#
