SC: I appreciate your well thought out reply, but, you and I are going to disagree on this forever, as I firmly belive there are people in this world who do not respond to or respect anything short of violence. It is their way of life and nothing less than a bullet or bomb will change that. It's a sad fact but I believe it is true. It's also regretable that more inocent people are going to die but, how many more inocent people should we let die in attacks on our country. Or do you not think we are inocent?

Air drop burning bales of pot into the mountains and get them all stoned

Sorry to interupt here, but SC, do you think the resentment of the families of the victims of the WTC & Pentagon attacks are Justified? or just conservitive war hawk brainwashing?

Alpine Tom: The outrage you inquire about was in those countries/areas you mention. Just like the outrage is now here in the USA. I think you guys are making this way too complicated, we are attempting to break the organizations responsible for these attacks on our own soil. I agree most Afgans are inocent but, we have to be agressive and do whatever is necesary to punish and prevent. Keep bombing. Gerg?: Why are they in the military if they aren't willing to fight?

One night I was sittin at a bar drankin some Schimt and enjoying some dueling banjo muzak with my white trash redneck buddies and we looked at some timid looking hippies trying to blend in and they jus' turned around and left!! Like thier stuff don't stank er sumthin. Hairball: One of my friends had a similar experience except the dude who befriended him also attempted to disrobe him after the beer started flowing. The molester was promptly beaten into submission and relieved of his cooler of beers.

Only ONE rule for women: Don't EVER think you've got her figured out. NEVER EVER EVER.

From the Lake Serene Trail: "follow the classic "tree root" path to an old cabin; here take the tread that begins from the front door and not the one that starts at the waterfall. Continue up the cliffy forest on foot and hand"

After an unsuccesful attempt to secure some Krispy Kreams at 8:30 I arrived at the pub. Right away I noticed an election party for some poor politician dominated the scene. In the corner sat a group of fleece clad drinkers mostly involved in intense conversation. I also noticed Caveman sitting at another table with some rough looking guys across the room. I went over and said hi to a crusty looking guy sharing the table with Caveman "hi - is this the Cascade Climbers table?" "no" " come on man, don't give me a hard time I know climbers when I see them, I am Bronco...blah blah blah" Caveman notices me chatting with my new friend and yells across the table "HEY ITS BRONCO! do you know that old dude? let me introduce you to the Cascade Climbers table" and he leads me over to the fleece clad group in the corner and promplty introduces me to CavewomanTimLMattMattPDr. JayHikerwaJERRY SANCHEZTo the TopA bald guy with a goatee (I didn't get your name, sorry) The evening proceded as you might expect with beta spewed everywhere and beer swilled (not spilled). Pretty gregarious all around. On the way home, I went back to Krispy Kreams thinking it certainly would have cleared out by now, to find still and hour wait.

One of my favorites is on one of the variations to the route description of the N. Face of the N. Peak of Mt. Index - ".....ascend a steep rock wall to to a large hanging brush patch. Imitate a gorilla through the brush and bear right along the ...."

Damn will, your mojo must've kicked in and led you to the heart windows prior to my reply. I assume you already have the 1000w amp and house speakers with purple fuzz decor?

Most places I have climbed, stuff is rated way too low.

Oh yeah, anyone want to buy some homeade pickets, they are similar to the older SMC type but burlier. About 5 Available in 24" - 40". Not for the lightweight minded. Hell, I will give them to you if you stop by my house in Monroe just to get them out of my garage.

You guys are nuts. As a consistent "do it yerselfer" I value my time at $30 per hour which is probably about how much time I would assume you are shopping for ingredients and manufacturing the goop. $30 is enough to buy a season's worth of GU and worth it not have one more thing I have to worry about getting done prior to going on a climb. If you're worried about the litter, throw the empties in crevases and they won't reappear in your lifetime (just kidding!)

Check out this deal at Black Diamond! http://www.bdel.com/php/specialpopup.php?id=115 Pretty nice pack for less than 100 bones. Looks like it would make a nice little summit/dayclimb pack.

'nother vote for MSU in Bozeman. There is way too much recreation around there for serious scholars. Some highlights Lambone skipped: Jobs don't pay much Average High temp in January -80 Locals don't like folks from the PNW ( yupies)Real Estate is too expensive lot's of alcoholic hunters in the back country up 'til x-mas and snowmobilers after that. You also better be expecting to adjust to "Montana Time". ie, if you are meeting a local to do some craggin at 8 am you are expected to chill out until at least 9:30. And don't be surprised if they befriended a hitch hiker in cowboy boots who's now going climbing with you.
