I advise you to exercise caution in holding these characters in such high regard. Coincidentally, throwing any motorized vehicle off of the top of a mountain will get you an honorary membership in the KTK. We tried to give Lou a honorary KTK membership but he was too big to fit it.

Here is The Medusa in all its glory a month ago. for more info check out the CASBC ice condishuns page or even now its on www.bivouac.com as a photo essay. Man I like to spray about routes I've done!!!! I make myself sick sometimes. Maybe I should punch myself On the other hand ice climbing is punishment enough. They're posting about routes with drilled pockets and glued on holds, and not taking down quickdraws that have been on a route for two years while some sporto works it. At least nobody's glueing on holds at our crags. Deception crags? Or are those holds bolted on not glued on? I never been there. So this is all innuendo.

quote: Originally posted by mattp: The terrorist threat is, I understand, B.S. My information may not be correct, but I read in the National Enquirer that there is no known toxin that could be used to poison a water supply as large as a mountain reservoir because it would be too diluted unless somebody were to drive up there with a tanker truck or something. Anyway, I just heard an alternate theory about the closure. They closed the access from downstream (is that the 5000 road?) a few years back, and now they've closed the upstream access to the reservoir. Maybe the dam is showing signs of liquification, something that is not at all uncommon for earthen dams and which would pose a serious threat to public safety (check out, for example, the Buffalo Creek Disaster). National Enquirer... a damn credible source you reference there Matt! I see the headlines "OUR WATER SUPPLIES ARE SAFE" right next to "RACHEL BABKIRK GIVES BIRTH TO BORBON'S 3 HEADED LOVE CHILD" and "POPE COMES OUT ABOUT HIS BIG LOU FETISH TO HILLARY CLINTON AT BETTY FORD CELEBRITY GET- TOGETHER" Are they keeping us out for our own good? Maybe its dangerous (and look out below). [ 04-22-2002, 03:11 PM: Message edited by: Dru ]

dru and Erik and specialed celebrated 420 with appropriate ritual in special's van on Saturday night. "If you dont like my fire then dont come around Cause if you do i will beat your ass to the ground Whiny anti pot smokers better not hassle me Cause I will kick their butts you see Earth is good but smoke in hut is better So if you got some herb go get'er The fire within, it fills a lung Its so fun to be stoned and young." I think Ben Harper wrote that...

"Allison Harpell" might also work cause she is working hard to join the KTK Ladies' Auxiliary and Tea Circle. Or you could go the whole hog and rename yourself "AlpineS".

Chris good to hear you cleaned up them 5.4s. I find that 5.4 is mostly C1 to me but I will do my best to try for a redpoint on my next weeklong trip down there. Do you have any special "Beta" on some of those difficult routes? i saw a girl place a 2 lb. yam in Classic Crack once.

Funny on this site: being named Scott = being anal mullet-wearing granny-bashing turd-chomping mule driver with 'roids , almost 100% correlation!

top roping is not leading. the only reason not to eventually lead an established TR is if it has *no* natural pro and it is too close to another route to justify adding bolts. just because some gapewad bubly like myself* threw a TR on it and flailed 10 yrs ago does not mean it would not be a good lead route. * who is gonna rap bolt this WEEKEND on a never-before TRed route and scub all sorts of moss and lichen off and prune a few tree branches too kill destroy environment green is bad
