  1. zoom makes distances look weird i think klenke is right i bet a moderator is gonna whine about mountain photos in the rock climbing forum
  2. Eat Albertan! We have less BSE!
  3. well klenke bust it.... i didnt know slesse looked that good from the southeast. i figured it was the pickets middle-right though

  5. open project
  6. Ok smarty what is this? sumpthin near bella coola.
  7. it looks about identical to the "very dry year" photo in McLane. but its probably gonna dump some freshiez up there on thursday anyhow.
  8. just place a tri cam instead of those two hexes, duh! cracked, buddy, i know you're jealous of me.... green becomes you lay it out on the line how many multipitch routes you've done and how many gear anchors you've actually belayed off of, huh? meanwhile i will enjoy the fact that my years of experience actually put me over the LEGAL DRINKING AGE
  9. When I fall off, I typically fall down. Don't know about you. Reminder, if ever climbing with "Cracked", check out his belay anchor before leading up the second pitch, unless of course, he's like 250 lbs. I think the force multiplier is only about 1.67. Isn't anybody worried about using only double fisherman's on those pieces instead of triple? shit, the guy only leads 1/2 pitch sport routes and cracks with bolted belays - i mean he only bought his first camalots last week do you think he even knows how to build a gear anchor
  10. you can climb hard and still be an asshole - just look at crazy polish bob
  11. pristine mountain environments are for alpinism; ice climbing is just a form of cragging, don't kid yourself.
  12. i liked the old skool drawn topos more than the photos too. mostly because i think they give better detail of the route as opposed to where it is on the crag which is more what you get with a photo.
  13. i admit to smashing cappelini's nose but i dont think we needed to chopper or ski in to weeping wall... good old packed trails in the Rockies made by hundreds of eager ice lemmings... anyways it is usually more efficient and faster to snowshoe in to ice climbs than to ski in skiiing is for jibbing and picking up snow bunnies not a proper tool for approaches...if its skiiable terrain you could snowmobile it anyways and save time for climbing
  14. money usually works. or you could steal one
  15. come up with a better one, ExtremoMtnFlash! LOL!
  16. Actually, I think Dwayner would have written "HAPPY YOM KIPPUR" today However would we remember all these holidays without the handy pocket calendar? For instance, Thursday, Oct 16 is 'National Boss Day'
  17. skiing is to climbing what nutmeg is to mushrooms
  18. ah, the infamously dogmatic catbirdseat generalization is it because you are a chemist (analytic type) or did you learn it from a Mountaineers instructor
  19. skiing is an acceptable pastime only when climbing is climactically off line

A question for Jon & Tim

Did you ever wonder why marylou kept posting the chatter link when it is prominently displayed on the sidebar
  22. How much $$$ did you get paid to make the sidebar display mandatory? Can the little people turn it off?
  23. What about the eastside Limestone roofs? Then again (Cairns will back me up on this cause he hiked up there with me to check it out) there is a 25+m roof hidden on the west side of the Squamish River in the forest. Canoe required for access. Offwidth crack right thru the middle too
  24. "do or not do, there is no try"
  25. Although the nude ascent was intended as a specific tribute to Guy Edwards, my research has uncovered a rich history of BC nude speed ascents. The oldest being the second ascent of the West Lion, when Chief J Capilano sent "one of his braves, stripped naked for speed, to repeat the route... up and down in under 15 minutes" c. 1903. I'm certain Lowell Skoog or Harry Majors can contribute a history of important Washington area naked ascents.
