This is a good story I had a similar problem with my Tikka Plus when it ws -30C in the Rockies. It would go on when the button was held down but if you let go of the button it would go off. Once it warmed up in the hostel, the problem stopped.Now I keep it in an inner jacket pocket so it stays warm until it is time to use it.
