  1. Not sure what the avy conditions will be like up there, but this cold trend should settle some things - there was no previous base out there, so its all anchored ot the ground as we speak - as there was about 2.5 feet at the base of the main slope down from the summit. Probably alot more up there now.

I think we are heading up to Hidden Lake Peak this weekend for some pow pow

  2. Left TH around 930am and hit snow in about 1 mile or less, patchy before that but the road approach is easy in a car, rough in a passenger car - real rocky

About 1/2 foot of snow in the lower elevations, once out of the trees and near the pond or lake it is deep, about 1-2 feet.

    Summit was reached around 1130am

and was cold and windy while most of the hike up was nice, with some suckerholes here and there. We has some okay turns up high, but they got better the further down we went on the slope.

About 2-3 foot base on most of the slope. Yo-yo'd the slope once and hiot a gully far right that had good protected snow. Back down to the car by 4pm.

    Good Times

  3. I agree with the Dell users

I have a Dell Inspiron 4000 thats about a year old and have had no problems with it (with a stable OS - win 2000 pro) and an older Dell Dimension XPS 6000t, and my newer dimension 8100. I have also purchased many of the refurbished computers for friends and clients as well with no grievances.

The dont have integrated components, so you can always upgrade w/no problems - compaq, Hp, and gateway do integrate most of the time.

As far as Mac products go, they are probably good as well, but I have tried not to make the switch thus far and have remained victorious.

Dell also has the free shipping once in awhile, and has a sweet bundled setup now that included a flatscreen monitor.

    Good luck

    Do you mean "The Cirque"?

  5. Wednesday was a good day for being up on the mountain, but the skiing was not all that great

Parts of Pan Point were melted out, and above Pebble Creek there were spots we had to boot up, just not enough snow.

Good turns from 8K down to 7K

CURRENT INFO: Well, this storm rallied to bring us 10 inches of new overnight. Forecasts are calling for it to stay strong through tomorrow night and then taper off a bit by Wednesday. We're hoping to hang onto the cold temps as it passes over us.

  8. The snow was cascade concrete for sure, and there were some high winds on top of panorama point. Some good skiing down panorama point, and some good runs near the bottom. Low visibility, but the road was good, and was not compact snow until about 1 mile from Paradise. Good Time

  9. Jared Ogden:

First ascent of the 6000-foot northwest face of Great Trango Tower (5.11 A4), Karakoram, Pakistan, one of the world's longest big-wall climbs, with Alex Lowe and Mark Synnott, summer 1999.

Just saw that video that day after he came into Cascade Crags when I was there. Zero Ego, nice guy, and of course he cranks!

  10. My dog sucks at the crags, or on the trail.

    -

He has this problem with other dogs, and will try and take them down at all costs. He has never had a problem with people, but has serious separation anxiety, but he was from the shelter so we have no idea what type of environment he came from. That being said, he stays in the garage when we go climbing or hiking.

Tupso Pass Road #41 to 3 Fingers - The Glacier Peak Area

After stopping today (11-10-02) at the Verlot Ranger Station I found out the the Tupso Pass Road (#41) is now open to the trail head to Goat Flats and Mtn. Three Fingers. The big washout has been repaired and the road was openned last week. There is one large tree down on the road that needs to be cut out. Smaller vehicles can get around it, but large pickups and SUV's can not. The USFS expects to have the tree removed in about a week.
