i was watching the news today and they did a report on people in north bend hearing strange howling nosies as the sunset. they think it might be big foot! or just ray Aidan

went up there two weekends ago and unless you like scarey thin ice/snow/crap in couloirs with the entracne to the second couloir all melted out i wouldnt recomend it. that was two weeks ago i dont want to know what it will look like now!.....wait till next winter. Aidan

i too like the metolius 4cams. the are light, durable, and hold really well! i also have camalots which of course are heavy but nothing feels stronger! also i have two wild country tech friends and i dont care for them much. the dont sit well in cracks and dont seem to hold as well (just the cam design) but hey cams are cams. Aidan

Donna, all i can say is......FUCKING ZOO. the approach was nice we went up the right side of the valley and came down the left. we followed tracks of other people and used no floatation. we had to wait in line to get on the route. going up was ok because the "big" crowd was behind us but coming down took.....get this.....2 Hours! luckly we were climbing alongside some nice people and the weather was good. probably the highlight was glisading from the notch inbetween pinapple peak and that other stumby pinnacle. i sat down at the down and let loose.......FLEW DOWN! it was great! now for beta......approach id is fine either way you go. the 3rd class rock going up to the base of the route might have some verglas early on the day so be careful! the first pitch is great...no snow..the second pitch great..the thris has a fair amount at the start but probably by the end of the week most of it will be gone. the last pitch is great. walking up to the summit from the last tree is snowy and slipery even in makalus so be careful again! have a great trip and be PATIENT ! dude some times spary can get really annoying. i am not saying its not funny but take the thread about the stuart/dragontail conditions. it has been all spary only one guy is giving good information. now i know you might not care about the info but for people attempting a route on the mountain this weekend it has become very helpful and i would like to thank that person. change of plans bros.....weather is looking to good! freezing level raising to 14,000 sometime this week and then dropping to 11,000 by the weekend.......perfect weather for....mt. stuart!

well we have made a some what final choice. we will be attempting the kautz glaicer route next saturday planning to summit monday. Aidan
