I don't think "thin skinned" is the right word here. It's one thing to listen to a polite critique. It's another to read to variations on a theme of your route sucks 20 times over two days. It would probably be a lot more friendly in here if people could resist the urge to add their own unique way to say "that route is an overbolted piece of hot stinky shit" to the pile of ten already there. Critiquing peoples routes is probably actually the perfect place to use the dreaded "me too" or icon. "Me too" lets you add your vote, cause sometimes you just gotta be heard, but refrains from spraying in the route-builder's face.

Both! From Nov -> April the closure will be at Taylor River which is a mile (or less according to Klenke [who seems to know his stuff]) from the trailhead for this climb. May -> October it's closed at Dingford Creek which is well past it. By the way, choss not moss is and will be the issue with this climb.

Not by congress. I think congress needed to approve him, but they certainly didn't pick him to be in the position. Bush can fire him too. I think you will agree that Bush should be held responsible/get credit for all that Ashcroft has done and will do. Blaming what has happened on congress is disingenuous as well as patently ludicrous.

In 2000, I was not too worried about who was elected because I figured they were both so-so guys, but even if the anti-environmental guy got elected, we still wouldn't be screwed up too much. I can't believe how wrong I was. GWB is destroying this country and it's future. It is a tragedy.
