mountainsloth Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 On the north side of Jumbo mountain across the valley from squire creek. Ranger station knows about it and is regularly monitoring it. When I hiked out on Tuesday a ranger had put up a sign that mentioned they might close the trail for safety. Lets hope this upcoming rainy week puts it out. It would be a shame to loose the great old growth that still grows high in that valley. Quote
curtveld Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Thanks for the update. Will be interesting to see what's still smoking up there after this rainy stretch. Wonder if the FS will send a crew up there to mop things up so it doesn't kick up when the weather dries out? Quote
hanman Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Having spent Saturday up on clear creek all I can say is Take THAT you fire you! I think we got about 5" rain yesterday or so it felt Quote
curtveld Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Take THAT you fire you! I think we got about 5" rain yesterday or so it felt nice! Good for the fires, not so much for the road repair project? Quote
Kolockum Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 Good for the fires, not so much for the road repair project? Hopefully they will do "emergency repairs" to the road, which typically are good enough to be permanent. Quote
Otto Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Was there a road repair project in progress, before the fire? Quote
curtveld Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 (edited) Was there a road repair project in progress, before the fire? Just the ford on the Clear Creek side (FS 2060) that Mark replaced. He was hoping get going the weekend it dumped. Edited October 24, 2015 by curtveld Quote
