Off_White Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 And that's a damned shame. I never met him, but being one degree of separation away I've heard a lot of friends talk about what a great guy he was, and what a loss of a real deal climber. Quote
num1mc Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 I heard a good story about him and a friend of mine doing a night of drunk dialing to a bunch of notables. Quote
ivan Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 is he dead, or just climbing rocks in another dimension? Quote
olyclimber Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I don't know why I just came across this, but I have a copy of the climbing guide that he and Fred Beckey did for Leavenworth. Its more just like a booklet or pamphlet. Definitely a PNW legend. Pretty sure I have at least one of of his SW climbing guides too. Quote
Otto Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 I never met the man but I bought this book in 1989, which was published the year before. As a Cascades climber, I had some desert dreams but was too scared of sandstone to do the adventure trips following the book would require. Too foreign, too strange. I admired his courage and persistence. May he rest in peace. Quote
