Lambone Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Does anyone know how far you can drive up there right now? Thinking about heading up towards the Ingals area... Quote
klenke Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Dude, call the ranger station over there by Cle Elum. They'd know. Ingalls Pass trailhead is over 4,000 ft, so you probably will not be able to drive all the way up Teanaway Road. Quote
COL._Von_Spanker Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Arent there houses and some sort of camp pretty far up? That may keep it somewhat clear. Quote
North_by_Northwest Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 I doubt you'll make it to Ingall's, or even to within walking distance of the trailhead. The Teanaway is serious sledneck territory this time of year. They usually shut off the road where the pavement ends to make it a sled trail. But yeah, you might want to call anyway. Â What did you have in mind to do up there? Quote
Lambone Posted January 9, 2003 Author Posted January 9, 2003 Thanks Paul. But which road from that list is it? One of the numberd ones? Quote
klenke Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 I still say you call the ranger station in Cle Elum. Here's the number: (509) 674-4411 Â In my mapbook, the road to Ingalls trailhead is no. 9737 (North Fork Teanaway River). It is likely you won't get much past Beverly Campground, which is about 5 miles before the Ingalls trailhead. Â N by NW is right about the slednecks on that road. I once got my car stuck in the snow there. A few of them motored by, gave us dirty glares, and kept on going. No stopping to help the automobile driver in distress. We got out eventually. We weren't too far from where the dirt turned to packed snow. Quote
North_by_Northwest Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 I tried to drive down the sled trail once in my rig. I was real set on climbing Ingalls in winter. Things went fine until I stopped 20 feet into the trail, then I heard my tires slowly crunching and sinking through the crust. I backed out under similar glares from the sledders. Quote
