rbw1966 Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 and everyone on the block compliments us on how our yard looks. And this is truly what matters most. Quote
allthumbs Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 The two trees in question are about 2 feet from my living room. When we get gusts of 90 mph blowing directly in from the Bay, it scares the shit outta me. Also, the Eagles sit up in these trees looking for a meal in the water...problem is, the bastards shit all over my deck. You think goose shit is bad? So the enviro-wacko neighbors are screaming bloody murder that I want to take the trees out. I was nice like Ray Borbon and told them to fucking mind their own business or suffer the consequences. And that's that. Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Whatever keeps my wife happy, so I can go climbing. Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Look Trask, those trees could kill you. Plus they are tearing up the foundation of your house. Get 'em out of there, but be careful. Hire AlpineK. I am sure he does good work. Quote
allthumbs Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Yep, my point exactly. I asked Kurt to cut for me awhile back but he wasn't interested. I'm paying Brand X $2000.00 to remove these two trees, granted, in 16 inch chunks, but really no huge problem. Not only that but I'm floating the branches out so there's not even any cleanup. Sorry Kurt, I offered. Quote
AlpineK Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Thanks Trask, but I'm sure a local guy is going to be cheaper for you. I'm busy enough in the greater Seattle area. Though I would like to meet you. Catbird, I have no problem with killing trees. I do it all the time; people plant the wrong tree in the wrong spot all the time. I also don't have any issue at all with the example you sited earlier. What I do take issue with is calling a species of tree a junk tree. Sure you can have a BLM in a bad spot, however that doesn't make the species junk. It sounds like you have some issues with tall native trees. If thats the case then don't buy a house in the forest. Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Note to self: in future, avoid the use of phrase "junk tree". Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Jeesus Trask, you're paying 2 grand? For two non-problem trees? Sounds fishy to me.... Quote
rbw1966 Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Sounds like Trask should find hisself a vietnamese gardner. I hear he's unemployed. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 No way! I got a job for him at my place! I've got about three or four big-leaf maples really fucking with my lake view over here. Maybe his ex-boss can issue an order.... Quote
AlpineK Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 It depends on the situation Sexy. If Trask has a bunch of stuff he doesn't want broke under the trees that he's taking down then it takes more time to kill them and thus more money. Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 But you can always lower it down in sections, if worse comes to worst. Two day job, at most. Quote
allthumbs Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Exactly. If SC would slow down two seconds to read my post, he'd notice where I mentioned that these twin 100 ft'ers are within about two feet of my livingroom, and also very close to the neighbor's house. Our houses are packed in here at the beach. There's NO fucking place to just drop the fuckers or I'd do it myself (ex-logger). So go play with yo stiffy SC and come back with a better attitude. Tramp! Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Read above. I'm a seasoned professional. Quote
AlpineK Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 If I had a dime for every guy that told me he used to do tree work I'd be a millionaire. Quote
allthumbs Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 I hear ya outlaw. I cut for G&D Logging in Darrington for a few months back when I was young, dumb and full a' cum. Drove log truck too...that was a trip. Now I want someone licensed and insured in case of a fuckup. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Careful, Trask. Word on the street is that Brand X is kind of a shady operation. 'Specially the owner; what's that fella's name? Something White or some such ... Quote
allthumbs Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Yeah, he PM'ed me with threat of civil suit unless I sent him royalties for the use of his name. What a peckerhead. I'm getting Matt to represent me. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 Word is he's also a bleedin' heart envir'nmentalist liberal. Keep an eye on him or he'll spike your trees so he can't cut them down! Quote
allthumbs Posted January 9, 2003 Posted January 9, 2003 It's all a front for his offshore operation. Quote
