Dr_Flash_Amazing
Don't miss this one, folks: 1999 Geyser Peak Cabernet Sauvignon, $14. Huge flavor with a lot of chocolate and velvety-smooth baking spice, supported by a rich foundation of round cherry and plum notes. Endless finish. Plenty of oomph to hold its own with any dinner, sweet and smooth enough to pair with dessert, without being cloying or sugary. Five stars. allthumbs
I don't need no daimond ring. I don't need no cadilac car. Just want to drink my ripple wine. Down in the lighting bar.
Dr_Flash_Amazing
Indeed, Iain, the venerable Fred Shed is the source, although it could probably be found elsewhere. They're also pouring it at Laslow's restaurant. Â The winery, Mr. Chocolate, is in California somewhere.

sexual_chocolate
Hey cali can't grow a good cab grape, can they? Oregon grows a mean Pinot Noir though, as Washington is getting props on its Syrah. Â Oh, and T Monk rules.

Dr_Flash_Amazing
Who gives a shit what anyone says about California's Cab grapes; this wine rocks it, and would be a contender at twice the price. Â Pinot Noir is yucko, and this Doctor doesn't find himself in the Syrah neighborhood too often.

Roger
Hey cali can't grow a good cab grape, can they? while I agree with DFA's uncharacteristically non-elitist "if it tastes good, drink it" response, I still have to ask... you're joking, right? that's kind of like saying "hey, there's really not much to climb in the north cascades, is there...?" Greg_W
I've never been impressed with wines from California. Go South American. Good cabernets from Chile that have more body, in my opinion. Not much of a white wine drinker, but the Riesling from Columbia Winery is nice (Chateau St. Michelle's is nice, too) as well as the Chardonnay from Columbia Crest (good for warm weather). Dr_Flash_Amazing
Eh? Is Dr. Flash Amazing not a bullhorn for the vox populi? Ever a champion for the little guy, an unapologetic, bleeding-heart tax-and-spend liberal? Indeed, he is.
RobBob
You guys got better taste than I thought! Some good cheap Chards are available from Austrailia also, although some are just too damn oaky. Penfolds Kanooga and Jacobs Creek both can be found for good prices.
Dr_Flash_Amazing
While DFA is not a huge domestic wine consumer either, and can't remember the last Californian vintage he supped, but it matters little - the above listed wine is the B-O-M-B bomb! Buy it and see.
