RuMR Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 To all of the naysayers regarding Smiff in the dark of winter. Had an excellent weekend pulling on compressed peanut butter w/ TimL and an old buddy who is just getting back into climbing. Saturday it was a balmy mid 50's, but rained enough that we were confined to the gulleys in the morning. Sunday, we woke up to blue-bird skies with temps in the 50's again. Climbing in a tshirt in January at Smith!!!! Woo HOO! Quote
erik Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 they are all naysers...RUmr.......though we all know the climbing is good everywhere at just the right time.... i think i am headed to smith in a few weeks too!!!! Quote

Highlander Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Sunday: Failed on Baring (poor snow conditions). Bronco and GregW introduced me to the red neck activity of shooting guns. Climbed damp rock at Index. Quote
Greg_W Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Don't forget the strange looks the gumby snowshoe people were giving us as they drove up to a hail of gunfire. hehehe Saw Michelle and Wayne out walking around and recuperating. Quote
TimL Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Right on Rumar! Thanks for helping me on Kings of Rap. The time warp between ice climbing in the canadian rockies and sport climbing at Smith was an interesting change. Smith was awesome this weekend. What a fun group to go down with! And nobody in the park! Rumar - I have your 70m. Quote
RuMR Posted January 6, 2003 Author Posted January 6, 2003 HA! I don't need no stinking rope! Actually, I've been grounded until I'm 45 by wife. So only plastic pulling for me! I'll grab that rope from you as soon as i can. Maybe Friday evening at the seattle VW or something like that? Yeah, that was about the best weekend there i've had in a while. Can you believe the weather Sunday w/ 20 people at the most in the park? And those were all old buddies at that!! I'm going to try to sneak down to Smith sometime at the end of January/beginning of February... Quote
Greg_W Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 I've been grounded until I'm 45 by wife. How, exactly, does THAT work? I don't understand some peoples' relationships sometimes. Quote
RuMR Posted January 6, 2003 Author Posted January 6, 2003 Its easy...she keeps my ballz in a pickle jar and just stuck a sticker on it that says "DON'T OPEN UNTIL 2015"... Quote
Bill_Simpkins Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Had a great weekend. Went trail running in the rain on Saturday. Went climbing at Mt. Erie on Sunday. Sunday was awsome. Got lots of sun. In this State, you just have to go to the right place. Quote
