Cpt.Caveman Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 If anyone hears of the trail\snow conditions going into this area via the Middle Fork give a hollar. Thinking about going in there. BTW what is a good summer time estimate on how long it would take to get near the glaciers below Chimney Rock? Quote
Dru Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Depends on how much is in your pack, how fast you hike and how much smokage. Quote
Stefan Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Road conditions up the Middle Fork are updated weekly by the Goldmeyer Hot Springs at this phone number. 206-789-5631. As you know, a vehicle with high clearance is REQUIRED to access this road. A good summer estimate to reach the glacier below Chimney Rock is probably about 7-8 hours from the trailhead. Quote
klenke Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 That's deep in there. Beware of bigfoot. Or, worse, cavemen. Quote
Toast Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 More like beware of your oil pan and transaxle Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted December 19, 2002 Author Posted December 19, 2002 I've been down the road a couple of times before. Thanks Quote
