Greg_W Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 NEWS FLASH: According to DFA, carjackings do not happen. Move along sheeple, live your lives without fear or concern. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Thanks for your concern, Greg ( ), but Mrs. DFA is more than capable of inflicting serious damage on anyone dumb enough to fuck with her. She, too, will not be a victim, but she has learned to defend herself in more ways than just killing people. Interestingly, she used to have a CW permit and used to carry, but decided, for whatever reason, that firearms were not the way to go. Â Smith Rock in January? It's going to be freezing balls, ese! Anyway, Dr. Flash Amazing does not relish the thought of getting shot by angry republicans! Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 No, Greg, it's not that DFA thinks that carjackings do not happen, but given the body of evidence available, it seems a bit on the Chicken Little side to start packing heat because FOX "news" reported that someone got carjacked in LA once. Kapish? Quote
sk Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Smith Rock in January? It's going to be freezing balls, ese! Anyway, Dr. Flash Amazing does not relish the thought of getting shot by angry republicans! Â Greg wont shoot you last time I climbed with him I did not even see the gun... Â COME CLIMBING!!!! IT WILL BE FUN Quote
Greg_W Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 last time I climbed with him I did not even see the gun... Â That's cause you didn't ask, honey. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Greg likes you, though, Muffy. He's probably been spending the last week polishing his weapons and painting "DIE, DFA, DIE!" on all his bullets with red paint! Quote
allthumbs Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 I would not think twice about building where you mentioned. Hell, I'd build on Mt. St. Helens, no problemo. I refuse to live in fear. btw, don't tell me I'm living in fear because I pack either. I'm living prepared and offensive, take charge mindset. Quote
Greg_W Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 There's lots of people I spar with on this site who I like hanging out with. DFA, you're not living in fear are you? C'mon you big chicken, we'll have a blast. Iain's coming so we are sure to solve all the world's problems by Sunday midday. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Perhaps DFA will head out, but not likely. The Doctor is having trouble finding an affordable Kevlar vest that is light and trim enough to hangdog in. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted December 18, 2002 Author Posted December 18, 2002 DFA -Your image is apprpriate considering that Todd Skinner and Beth Wald sold red Soviet t-shirts to earn $ after visiting the soviet union and competing in a speed climbing contest. Your low down commie tendacies not withstanding! Â PP Quote
sk Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 LOL I don't think you will need the Kevlar... he would at least give you a running start I am so joking I will keep you safe DFA, I promis!!! Quote
iain Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 you guys could hit Silver Bullet Cliff at Rocky Butte too. There's that 5.11 where you climb up the bullet scar finger pockets. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Damn, Rocky Butte so should have made the 'Worst Crags in America' list in the new issue of Climbing. Never been to a more depressing crag than that; dirt washed down from the top of the cliff covering all the routes, trash all over the place, graffiti, sun never hits it ... laaame. Quote
allthumbs Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 DFA, you probably browbeat and shamed her into shitcanning the piece. Living with an narcissist like you must be a bitch. Quote
iain Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 fun part about rocky butte is you've no idea what route you are climbing half the time. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 Dumbass, she ditched the firearm long before DFA met her. Â You're such an ignorant slut, Trask, to use your idiom. Quote
allthumbs Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 I hate you. I think it's time for you to apologize to all members for being a twat. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted December 18, 2002 Posted December 18, 2002 What?! The Doctor isn't about to apologize for your inexcusably lewd and childish behaviour on this fine web site! And even if he were to do such a thing, there aren't enough hours in the day to repent for all the blasphemous filth you perpetrate! Quote
Peter_Puget Posted December 18, 2002 Author Posted December 18, 2002 Thanks Fairweather! I agree with your comments completely. Odd how J_B has been calling for "peer reviewed" studies in another thread. Weird because the implication is that a peer reviewed study would be (relatively) free of bias. Note that he calls for this freedom only in this case. The Nation article defending the Arming of America clearly is defending the indefensible (one of many I would say) yet he presented The Nation as a persuasive unbiased source of info. In another thread he suggested that one of the Professors he was quoting was an Israeli without an point of view (here is the quote from Mtngoat's binary world:_"These texts are not from anyone's press in particular, they are opinions and witness accounts by people with a good knowledge of the israeli state, often israeli citizens themselves.") The odd thing is this professor has taught at a Palestinian School and is far from a typical Israeli. He is actively a political beast. Apparently the standards of truthfulness and full disclosure are only to be upheld if there is a "peer review" process to catch you if you fib. The so-called "liberal" press is an embaressment of rigid "group think" and cognative dissonance. Happily the fallacies of Arming of America were caught. What is sad is (and I would encourage everyone to spend 15 minutes researching this) was how vociferous the defense was and still is. Â PP Quote
mikeadam Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 I thought the bullet scar finger pocket was a .10c. Did it get harder or something? Quote
iain Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 dunno, grades seem to be all over the place there and broughton's. Quote
allthumbs Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 Imagine a Christmas card where Santa Claus makes a pre-emptive strike on terrorists, by firing a fully automatic firearm mounted on a reindeer-powered sleigh. Santa's target: militant, Islamist, suicide terrorists. Â That's the gist of the Christmas card that gun lobbyist John Michael Snyder said he is sending to Members of Congress, the Bush administration, and others this year. Â Snyder, the public affairs director of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, issued a statement describing his card. Â 'We've known since childhood that Santa puts coal under the Christmas trees of bad children,' said Snyder in the press release. 'It's just another stretch of the imagination to consider Santa delivering multiple doses of hot lead to wicked terrorists.' Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 Your NRA dollars hard at work! What a swell appropriation of funds! Quote
Greg_W Posted December 19, 2002 Posted December 19, 2002 I didn't see any reference to the NRA in that post, DFA. Are you sniffing glue at work again? Quote
