Pete_H Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Looks like it was good about a week ago http://www.turns-all-year.com/skiing_snowboarding/trip_reports/index.php?topic=25517.0 Some more good beta: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1078237/Mt_Baker_Coleman_Glacier_condi#Post1078237 Quote
DPS Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Mt Baker typically enjoys a long season, and this was a late snow year. While I have not been up this year, I'd bet a dollar it should be in fine shape. Perhaps bring a few screws for a running belay on the Roman Wall, that section can get icy. Quote
genepires Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 if you want up to the date info, try calling the american alpine institute office. they have guides on baker every week all summer. if you are nice, they shoudl give you good answers. I would bet money that it is in and fine to go. Quote
PandaExpress Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I climbed it a week ago. Good condition, some crevasses opening up but line is direct. There is practically a trench to walk through to get up the Roman wall and if you have any snow experience you should not need protection at all. Quote
Whatcomboy Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Summited today by Coleman Glacier. Route is in excellant shape. Quote
