builder206 Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 “Warships on standby after Indonesian quake” In other words, “the survivors will be out in the open, a perfect time to attack.” Wouldn’t you want the HELPER ships on standby after a quake? Peace ships, food ships, cruise ships? It seems mean to call in warships at a time like this. Quote
ivan Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 perhaps somebody thought it was time to teach that bitch Mama Nature a little lesson? Quote

To add to what Kurt said, the typical Nimitz class supercarrier carrier can feed about 5,000 people 3 meals a day. It can produce tens of 1,000s of gallons of fresh water per day, and a half-dozen or more helicopters which it can sortie for rescue and evac operations. I think just one carrier might be the biggest SAR force ever assembled, so mebbe that's a good thing for the Indonesians... Quote
rob Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 i'm pretty sure he was joking, you know. It does sound kinda funny. Quote
G-spotter Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Plus you can plug the carrier's reactors into the grid and power parts of the city after the Fukushima plant melts. Quote
Coldfinger Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 i'm pretty sure he was joking, you know. It does sound kinda funny. This--"While estimates vary, over 170,000 people were killed by tsunami in Aceh and about 500,000 were left homeless..."--IS NOT F'NG FUNNY. Quote
