lazzara
What's this route all about? Can only find a few photos and that it's on Snoqualmie . . . an ez'er NYG? Beta? Anything?
DPS
I'm not exactly sure if I climbed Washington Dihedrals or not. Here is a topo with the line Nick Strait and I climbed about 10 years ago. If that is indeed Washington Dihedrals then I can say it was a moderate ice and mixed route. We soloed most of it and roped up for the last couple of pitches of mixed rock/snow/ice. Edited November 28, 2011 by DPS
genepires
never been out there but from one of the photos, it looks like the wa dihedrals may be to the climbers left of the slot couloir. One photo has a large gully to the right and below. good luck. let us know what you find out please.
lazzara
Thanks DPS - sounds a little to sloggy up there now. I'm sure it'll get cold for reals eventually . . or not
kurthicks
Boot penetration today at Snow Lake Divide was 30cm to waist.

sobo
Shit, kurt, what a wallowfest that musta been...
kurthicks
not bad at all on skis. Snow quality was, however, a bit less than stellar.
sobo
Slick edit, kurt. When your post originally said "not on skis" I took that to mean that you were, literally, not on skis. I didn't read it as [not bad at all if] you're on skis. Damn this Engrish ranguage... BTW, what were you doing up there, exactly? Inquiring minds want to know... kurthicks
studying for my level 3 avalanche course and getting in some marginal turns. And looking to see how stuff is shaping up for the coming high pressure...
sobo
Level 3??? Khrist, man, you go! BTW, Snow Lake Divide... Were you in the Alpental area or Enchantments? Too damn many "snow lakes" around here...
kurthicks
Alpental--hence the discussion of conditions near-ish the Washington Dihedrals...
sobo
Well, that's what I thought, but I just wanted to make sure. Just so you know, I pondered a bit before asking about the possibility that you could have been in the Enchantments, lest someone come out and bash me severely about the head and shoulders for being so ludicrously stoopid to believe we could have been talking about anywhere other than the Enchantments. Thanks, kurt, I'm off to fix myselfg aother frink...
