NYice Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Nice cross-post Al. Cool video. "so... pumped..." Quote
Don_Serl Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 tough climbing, full-on effort, good show! scariest spot for me was seeing the way the whole bulge was plated low on the route, maybe a minute in - would be easy to hit the ground if the surface came away... Quote
Tyson.g Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) HOLY S%@T! Coronary is right. My flipping heart came out of my throat watching that! Awesome! Super badass! Thanks for posting. Edited February 12, 2011 by Tyson.g Quote
Julian Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 This was one of the better climbing sequence films I've seen - far more interesting than most "professional" videos. About half way through, when he's making the hand moves on the rock shelf and then plants his axe in the ice bulge, I was thinking "That doesn't look like it's in too well" Then when he matches hands on the tool with one on the head, I was thinking "No way can that be a secure position, he's going to leverage out the tool" Then he did it again and the tool blew, and I jumped out of my chair watching that fall. Awesome stuff. Quote
cynicalwoodsman Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 "I'm so pumped!" Yeah me too... 'n all I did was watch! Somebody buy that man a beer! Quote
ianwelsted Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 wow. when he put his hand on the pick, yikes, desperate, going for it. did he fall on a screw i guess. another example that they actually work Quote
NYice Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I think that he is falling on the cam in video although he fell several times working on the route. Quote
GNARnia Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Recently got posted up on Alpinist, on top of all that fear they say his belayer never held a lead fall before!! Quote
