shannonpahl Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Just hiked past Colfax peak yesterday and got these pix of the ice routes on Colfax. If can make it out there Mon or Tue this week, go get some ice in June! www.shannonpahl.com/pix/colfax.zip Quote
Jens Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Wow! Amazing conditions. A totally different ballgame than an October or November in our range. If you want easy ticks, both the Polish route and Cosley-Houston look easily soloable right now! Quote
powderhound Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 someone post a TR of it so I can drool over more photos while at work. need stoke... please provide! Quote
Chad_A Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Ha, I knew it! Suppose I'm not surprised, freezing levels have been at 6500 or lower recently. Thanks for the pics, makes me want to get out the tools again. Quote
Choada_Boy Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Be careful up there, this spring's weather has been tweaked around here, could throw you a curve ball. Quote
Chad_A Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 No, I hear ya. I figure it'd be a whiteout shitstorm with the weather we've been having, or if the sun comes out, too warm to be on those pillars. Either way, Nate and I nailed it pretty good back in '08. Ah, those were the days... Quote
Dane Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 That would be a good solo on the Polish even though it is thicker now than it was in April. Remember this picture Brian? Even the sunny days can be a little messy on Colfax :0 Go get some! Quote
Dane Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 About time dude!! That is great news! When and where? Quote
Jens Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 For the rest of us drooling over the pics, be careful, you go down some pretty choice little slide slopes on the descent from the top of Colfax that will dump you into some gnarly terrain if they slide. They make a lot of other slide slopes look like the bunny hill at the bottom. Quote
