Fairweather Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Why? Because it asks you to accept a share of responsibility for your behavior? Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Well, it's all about the response, isn't it. FEMA, the primary organization responsible for federal response to disasters, was gutted and downgraded in importance, and administratively churned when the DHS was formed. It's response was abysmal. That's when the president needs to kick in. Bush went in with too little too late. He did a shitty, shitty job. Â Yeah, we're all part of the oil problem, OK. Accidents happen, and this one, from an engineering standpoint, is an extremely difficult one to fix. I wouldn't attempt to put too much of a political flavor on it. Quote
kevbone Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 No because at this time in our lives we are all dependent on oil. It is our society. I am hoping this will change. It costs a lot more to get oil than to get solar and wind. Quote
Nitrox Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 That is such a lame argument. Â While I don't hold Obama responsible for any part of the oil spill I do find a certain level of hypocrisy in the condemnation of those saying "told ya so" while filling up at the nearest gas station. Â I'm quite fond of the Gulf of Mexico and am saddened by this catastrophe but I also think its a bitch move what you're doing. Half your car is made from plastic and runs on oil, you're part of the reason why BP is drilling in the gulf. Â Â Quote
Nitrox Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Don't like illegal immigrants? DON'T EAT FOOD!! Â Or grow your own...but that requires self reliance and liberals just don't get that. Â Â Quote
Fairweather Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 OMG, there are illegals in my food? This is immoral. And speaking of food, it takes 37 calories of oil to produce every single calorie you shove into your hole. Something to think about while you hop on to your $5000.00 road bike and flip off cars... The Slayer Hippy Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 No because at this time in our lives we are all dependent on oil. It is our society. I am hoping this will change. It costs a lot more to get oil than to get solar and wind. Â Â you're gonna put a sail on your car? Quote

I wouldn't attempt to put too much of a political flavor on it. Â huh? Accidents happen? What's Obama going to do about expanding offshore drilling? Do what corporations and Republicans want him to do again? Quote
j_b Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 Why? Because it asks you to accept a share of responsibility for your behavior? Â look at the one who called for expanding offshore drilling blame the victims of his policies. Quote
j_b Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 I do find a certain level of hypocrisy in the condemnation of those saying "told ya so" while filling up at the nearest gas station. Â As if most people had a choice of reasonable public transit or could avoid the 24/7 consumerist commercial propaganda of the corporate media. Quote

So little malcontent bitches like you and Prole can keep eating cheap industrial organic and pumping cheap soot-laden diesel into your Volkswagen TDIs. Quote

j_b Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 Just imagine, the fuckwits destroy the environment with their dead-enders policies, but we are "malcontent". ROTFL Quote
Fairweather Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 i don't own a vw tdi or eat organic industrial food, moron. Â Sure you do. I hit the nail on the pinhead. Quote
j_b Posted May 4, 2010 Author Posted May 4, 2010 once more your advocacy of dead-ender policies that destroy our economy and our environment show that you know nothing of sensible policies for our future and this is all you have got to reply? Quote
Hugh Conway Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Apparently Fairweather is blaming this on the previous Gay CEO of BP Quote
