What's the best driving route? I-5 vs. I-84 vs. some super secret way. Forecast looks good for when I'm leaving this weekend. Google sayz they're pretty close to the same.

I've done the I-5 way before, but don't remember it because :brew:.

I don't know if this will help you at all but...

We drove from ellensburg...on the way down we went 82->84->15. We left around 7 pm and pulled into the campsite in the early/mid afternoon. We hit SLC traffic, other than that easy drive, though relatively remarkable landscape.

Way back we drove through death valley, through bishop, reno and up central oregon, through bend etc. Much more enjoyable drive and only a tad longer.

I don't know how you are with road trips, but I suggest mixing up the routes to enjoy your time spent driving! Have fun.

Another way that's really fast is Yakima, Kennewick, Boise, Twin Falls, and then due south. You can average 90mph through that part of Nevada without a car in sight.

I'll second tlinn's suggestion of Yakima, Boise, Twin Falls, etc... Pretty straight shot, with the only one iffy weather spot after Snolquamie in the Blue Mountains near Pendelton, Or.

Thanx.

This is the route I was leaning towards, at least for the drive down.

Have a great time Crillz. This will be the first time in six years that I will not be going to Vegas for Spring break. While I had an awesome time each year, its finally time for something new. This year INDIAN CREEK :rocken:

Have fun, I go to Vegas every couple months and the Seattle to Twin Falls then South is a great way to go. It does get a little remote. Have fun.

I'll be there in April. The picture in my avatar is actually me at Redrock.. ha

 Absolutely! If you've never driven up the Sierra eastside on 395, you'll be amazed.
