Dane Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 I just like the scale of things in Canada :-) And this is still considered a "small" one! top of a 70m pitch start of another 70m pitch and the entire 240m upper section. The scale, reliable ice, the good FIVE bottom ice pitches in the first 450m and the amazing ambience reminds me why I have never been impressed with WA ice Is it any wonder climbers come from all over the world just to do this climb? pu Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Sorry Dane. To me Ice and Breasts are equivalent. Once you've seen one set you want to see them all. Size, Shape, Age, Location does not matter. Guess that makes you a "specialist". Quote
Buckaroo Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Yes, Banff is nice but when stuff forms up here you can have almost as much fun and it's a bit shorter of a drive. When I've had nothing for a while I can go up to Snoq pass and run top-rope laps on a 25 footer and get a fix, or even the seracs on the Coleman are fun. Another good place that's a bit closer than Banff is Lillooet, it's got quite a few 500 footers. Quote
trainwreck Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 The Banff/Canmore area is pretty sick for WI climbing. It's a shame about all the people though. Quote
trainwreck Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 You can have Cody (that's not true, I'd love to go there) because if I have to drive that far to climb ice, I am driving to AK. If we drive any more than an hour and a half I get whiny. Quote
John Frieh Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I should be up in your neck of the woods last two weeks of March dude Quote
G-spotter Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Another good place that's a bit closer than Banff is Lillooet, it's got quite a few 1200 footers. Fixed that for you. Bring a canoe. Quote
Le Piston Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Canada has some great climbing. Not just ice, but some sweet alpine objectives as well. It is well worth the drive! Hope you are having good times Dane. Quote

Yeah, I was wondering if there was canoe rentals there, my car is too small to load one on the roof. Maybe someone that rents one in summer could hook one up. Quote
